In a word yes!
In the long ago past a news paper (Mirror) held model contests at Floyd Bennett field and I flew control line combat in 1958 and 59 with my friends from the Fort Green projects.
It's fantastic Bennett field is used for RC now. When I was there RC was single channel rudder only and worked, sometimes.
