This has been a very interesting and informative thread.
Just wanted to say I have two bare bones Carl Goldberg MIG 27s
available cheap for pick up in MN
but shipping costs too much.

Hopefully those are not part of the 50 or so migs I gave away to everyone a couple of years ago on the condition that they were free.

Hi Harry,

I have no idea???
I bought them from a guy who said he bought them at a garage sale.

So, are you still giving them away for free?

Lets just say for the sake of discussion that they are.
What are your rights or interest in this matter?

You want to see that all MIG 27 drones in existence have no value for all time to come?

No I don't really care what people do with them. About 4-5 years ago I aquired about 200+ of them in Minnesota and gave them to people under the issue that I would not just be getting them for people to take and sell to make money from. What I was doing was to help people out who "really" wanted one or had an interest in projects using one of them. I spent many hours and a bit of money moving the airplanes and didnt expect anything from that other than people use them if I got them.

Who knows, someone may have had some laying around for 20 years in the garage or just didnt have time to putz with them.

My only interest is the fact if people might be selling the ones I got is that I will never do something like this again is all. This was not my intention otherwise I would have sold them all myself instead of help.

Bottom line is I don't have any authority over what people do with their stuff (IE the migs) and don't really care all that much its just that I will never waste my time in doing stuff for others in this regard again.

So I apoligize if that seemed directed at you because I didnt really mean it that way. Unfortuante that I could not inject some sense of jest into the statement.

What are the specs on your retracts? Make, model, size and, MOST important, cost? Did you order them online or buy them at a local hobby shop?

and I have just been snotted off by everybody
and I get a lot of,
well my last one was free

do I look like the us army to you?

first you said you gave 50 away a couple of years ago

then you said you gave 200 away 4 or 5 years ago

ah.....

they made 100,000 of them

but you think these might be the ones you gave away?

Did they look like MIG 27s?

were they made out of the crappiest Styrofoam I have ever seen?

white and blue mixed?

It was a good thing you did years ago

good on you

don't kick your dog or beat your wife anymore because of my actions please

but that was years ago

and this is now.....

They are heavy and under powered

so I was only going to use the wing and engine
for a control line flying wing
(gasp)

and then the wing, engine and rudder of another one for an R/C flying wing

but your comments have hurt my feeling so much

I feel like flying them and shooting them full of holes

Seems to me the only one who may be kicking the dog and beating wives is you considering your response. Have fun with your migs.

They are target drones remember?

They were designed and built to be shot down!

Paint? PAINT?? LOL! The MiGs I flew in the Army were TARGETS! If we had the time to "beautify" them at all, we used magic markers!

Seriously, the few MiGs I've seen flown by hobbyists usually have Mylar coating, if that is the right word for that thin plastic stuff that's heat-sealed on to the plane.

I can't recall ever seeing one of these styrofoam MiGs painted, but I don't doubt that there are some R/C hobbyists who have painted their MiGs. I'd also be interested to know the results.

Oh, it seems to me I saw some pictures of a MiG owned and painted by a subscriber to this forum, so maybe he will post those pics again? And perhaps he will answer your question about paint, too.

Army Mig 27 pilot and eagle dancer, Re; Post #75
Double WOW! I was a member of the Barking Sands R/C club on Kauai. Yes I definitely remember eagle dancer. His stepmother was a sailor there. Yes, we used to sit on the beach and wait for those downed drones to float it. I got a number of the HB .61 engines.

Interestingthing is that I Idid an internet search for "Barking Sands R/C Club" and found eagle dancer's post ..
