help savage 25 wont start doesnt suck fuel
Hi
My savage doesn't want to suck fuel even when i put my finger on the exhaust end and start it with roto start. What can I do?
Also what do air bubbles in fuel pipe indicate?
I'm new to rc models so please be understanding.
Thank you for your help!

Air bubbles mean one thing AIR LEAK check the lines (I would put new ones on) the tank, and the Oring on the tank cap [sm=shades_smile.gif]

If the motors been sitting for a while with fuel in it, it may be clogged with oil. Try pulling the glow plug and the fuel line from the carb and blow some compressed air through it while rotating the flywheel then try it again.

No. It does suck fuel. The tanks are pressurized only to augment this.

i have an s25 engine from hpi and if it sat without attention i noticed that even when using after run the high speed and low speed needles along with the inside of the carb will get surface rust. and that in turn will clog up fuel passages. it is best to have it cleaned out or you can clean it yourself. you have to remove the carb to clean it.then disassemble the carb and clean it thoroughly. stuf you can use to cean it with is: some use wd40, some use brakleen, i use la awsome degreaser and a toothbrush, then rinse well with water(hot) and dry it well( a hair dryer woks well for drying as it heats it up enough to evap water in spots you can't get to). after you clean i would a little after run oil to lube the slide portion of the carb. then reassemble the carb and return to default settings. if you don't have your manual, let me know, i have the pdf with all the info.

Cheers guys, I just decided yesterday to get my Savage going again after 7 months of it sat around. I had this exact problem with it not getting fuel into the carb, after a few unlucky mouthfuls of Nito Fuel I managed to get it running and it's perfect!

well should make a new thread as most people read the 1st post, and ignore the rest.
but sounds like your tune is off, and it might be getting too much fuel into the engine bogging it down.
hard to say without a video

New here (still learning nitro) I have a HPI savage .25 i restored and fixed for a friend. Truck was in very bad conditon after putting everything back together when i tried to start it for the first time i couldn't get fuel to go through the fuel line to the carb, held the exhaust pipe tip nothing, tried Siphoning the fuel line nothing (haven't tried blowing thorugh the exhaust line) pretty sure the engine doesn't have any air leaks it is a roto start when i put fuel in the head it starts and screams ofcourse is there anything im missing? took the tank off and fuel pours out the line when tipped to the side. Not positive on the low end needle tuning i have downloaded the manual but when i turn the needle in clock wise it starts pushing the carb open not sure where to start when tuning low end or idle. any help would be much appreciated!

If fuel won’t flow at idle, either the idle gap is too small (pretty rare as they’re often set too wide), or the low speed needle is too lean and closing fuel off completely. Set the idle gap to 0.6mm resting in the idle position, and set the idle needle so the head of the idle screw is flush with the top edge of the slide valve. This will be quite rich, but it will get you going provided the carb is t all gummed up from old oil. If fuel won’t flow with the idle gap and idle needle set as I described, the fuel inlet is probably plugged and needs to be taken apart and cleaned.
