A customer pointed me to this thread this morning.
Obviously, I get pretty busy at work and don't have a lot of free time to cruise the forums to support customers. I wish I did, but then I am the web guy, sales guy, advertising guy, manager of persons, garbage man, customer service guy, and shipping guy, so my days tend to be pretty full.
As a general rule, the best way to let us know about a problem is not a post on RCU. Phoning us toll free at 1-888-968-7251 is the best way to have us hear about your problem, and get it resolved. We stand behind our product.
Until I talked to the customer who pointed to this thread this morning, I was only aware of the problem thanks to Mr. Kerster, and we've been working with him to address the problem, and as his most recent comment suggests, we've been trying to find an amicable solution for him.
In general, of course, it is not wise to leave a fiberglass aircraft out in the sun, especially a dark coloured one. Fiberglass gets soft when it gets hot and you do run the risk of it melting or deforming. We have not had this happen to us, and we don't have any aircraft in our hands that were affected to do further testing (yet). However, there are about 100 of these aircraft out there in the wild, and many of them are already in flight. I know for a fact that a good customer of ours in Arizona has been flying his and has had no problems with the paint. This is not to say that others aren't, but merely that we are working to try and determine the cause and the scope of problems such as Mr. Kerster has experienced. If you do experience such a problem and it is not related to negligence (ie. you took it to the field and left it in the sun all day), but related to a minor exposure, please call us at the number above and we'll address the problem.

Well, sounds like Paul and KMP will do something to help you with it. Paul seems very interested in it and they won't be in business long term if they don't present a nice kit. I'm sure they will resolve it. I have one due any day now and I'll try the sun test. I know on my IF when it's 80 degree's plus the surface temp on my dark blue car is easily 140+ temp.
I'm not to worried as my models get that beat look anyway from transporting and flying incidents anyway but I hope it's nice in the beginning right out of the box.
This may just have to be a special care model with the sun.

I myself have fiberglassed airplaines in the past and never had this problem even after being in the sun all day long at fly in events.

Just got my F7F today from the second batch (all fiberglass) the wings seem very strong overall very nice plane. The manual states 23lb when completed, looks like a very easy plane to put together,

Yea man I just received mine too! Looks like a Great model. Much larger than I expected.
Better quality than I expected. I looked over the fuse and retracts. Paint is fantastic. did not have time to go over the entire contents. Going to start on it this weekend. I am going to use OS 91 four cycles but may go to 120'S this is a massive model.

So far, I haven't found any, but it has only been about 90 the last few days. Maybe I will begin to find some around mid-august.

In the first batch was the complete F7F fiberglass ? If not what sections used regular covering. Also the one I just got has 258cc tanks (8.7) ounces.

Hey We have the Typhoon and the F7 and the air line for the gear does not seem to fit as well as robarts do. The air lines can be pulled off of the valves very easily and do not have to be cut off like Robarts and leads me to believe that air could leak from these points very easily. Have any of you changed out the air lines or any of the tees or have any of you had any problems with air leaking and can anybody tell me what you have changed and what have you changed the tees and air lines to, i.e., what brand of air lines and tees? We don't want any belly landings with these birds. Also, does anyone make any quick disconnects for this thickness of air line? Thanks very much

LIQUID, THE T-CAT AIRFRAME IS EXTREMELY TAIL HEAVY. I INSTALLED 2 ZENOAH G-26'S AND WITH A 3000MAH BATTERY WAY FORWARD OF CG, THE PLANE IS STILL TAIL HEAVY. SOMEONE ON THIS FORUM POSTED A THREAD STATING HE HAD TO ADD OVER 5LBS IN THE NOSE TO GET HIS T-CAT TO BALANCE. HE WAS RUNNING ELECTRICS AND HE USED THE MOTOR BATTERIES FOR THE WEIGHT. HE SAID THE BIRD CAME IN AT JUST OVER 28 LBS, (60 OZ.+ PER SQ. FT., WOAH!) STILL FLEW WELL.

CSARB, NOT YET, MY BIRD IS ABOUT 80% DONE, A TON OF LITTLE THINGS TO FINISH UP ON. THE NOSE GEAR LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER CHALLANGE. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL IMAA MEET A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO FOR STATIC DISPLAY AND PEOPLE WERE ALL OVER IT...............
