Only the rod was damaged, the crank is fine, a new rod slides on and off easily and turns smoothly. I have two rods for it,a good used one with a solid round lower end and a new one with the notched lower end. The notched one is the current offering at Horizon.

Oh, I thought that was a picture of the old rod after you buffed it out. My bad! I'm glad it was just the rod. You will have it up and purring like a kitten in no time.

Could be. A NIB non GK 100 FA-AAC from Horizon has a $339.99 price tag, by comparison $290 doesn't look so bad but it doesn't mean a prospective buyer will pay it. It has been a long time since I could afford to buy an R/C engine 2 or 4 cycle in a store.
Quick question if I can fit it under the cowl do you guess think a Saito .80 would be too much engine for a 9 to 10 lb. civilian scale job? I fly in more of a scale like fashion, I don't fly 3D or fly patterns. I haven't got the coordination or reaction times for that.

I have a 100GK in my 1/5th Cub. It sticks out the cowl in a way that looks like a real Cub engine, and turns a prop large enough to be scale like. It takes off in 10', climbs like an F-15 on Afterburner, but at under half throttle, has scale like speed and sound. Go for it.

So how much does a real nice Saito 80 cost lately?

I have a Horse trailer I can convert into a nice hanger if I wanted to. Horses aren't using it. Right now I have a 6 x 12 trailer I haul the planes around in, and with reconfiguration can make room for more. I have my Rascal 168 in it now, granted it is busted up from its trip into a corn field with no power. I did have my 33% CARF Extra 330L in there at one time too. I think I can get the B-25 and P-61 in there once they are built, by then the Rascal will be gone. I'll give Crunch some time to decide if he wants to buy the wreck off me and for how much, or decide to repair it and modify it to make it lighter and more agile. It was the slowest turning plane I have ever flown, you have to start the turn well before you want it to turn, and was not used to that, which is how it wound up in the corn field.

I have a Ford Escape to haul with and for the projects I have waiting for me attention I can fit each of them in it just not at the same time. I have seen some very tempting giant scale airplanes but when I run the numbers I find I can complete several of my current stash for the cost of just the short kit. It does a great job of tempering my desires.
Your Escape can tow a trailer the size of mine. My WIfe's Focus could if I were able to put a hitch on it.
Yeah yeah I know, don't give you any more ideas. LOL
Just thinking, if I got a CriCut, I could make Powered by Saito stickers for her Focus.

I have my wife's Tahoe for hauling planes to the field, does that count?
Picked up a preowned GP 81" span Yak 54 yesterday. I had 2" to spare in the Tahoe . Don't have a Saito big enough for it but for now the DLE 55RA should drag it around with authority.

Really! Then again the Escape doesn't have a hitch and I have no place to park a trailer. Both ideas would require a messy divorce and then I wouldn't have a place to build. So I think I'll stick to what I already have.

Just wait until you spill fuel in the Tahoe and then we'll see how long its plane hauling days last.
