RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
The Reedy flash motors seem to have lots of tork and speed. I have a 17t in and it has tons of power for my truck and 4wd buggy. I havent tryed it in the TT01 yet thats next.

Just wondering what types of foam tires you guys run for asphalt bashing. I hear they last much longer than rubber tires. Any suggestion?

Foams can get chewed Badly on rough asphault..
If your Just Bashing Stick to radials.. If your going to be racing, then go for a Decent set of slicks
I would leave foams for track work.

scando**** has returned!!
the reedy flashes are pretty good budget motors.. The team orion formula Sv2 are what i like using and recommending.. They about the same price but they are newer designed motors with angled brushes. etc. like more expensive motors.

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
I just tried my TT-01 I have had for awhile for the first time 2 days ago. It is the D version. It is harder to drift than my E-10 only because the Sport Tuned packs more punch . So that's a good thing ha ha. I haven't got a body for it yet, this weekend I am buying a Tamiya Mercedes body set for it, and have light kits on the way.
I also ordered the alloy driveshaft, even though I won't be putting hotter motors in it, the graphite center breace, and shock tower stiffeners.
I really like the sport tuned for this the runtimes are great with 27 turn motors.

Yeah the sport tuned motors are good motors and pack a punch ive had cheaper 15turn motor that dont have half the speed or torque of the sport tuned motors
The TZ and RZ are also great motors you cant really go wrong with tamiya motors imo [8D]

Depends on the surface you use them m8
If its super smooth surfaces they last a while and are worth it,but on carparks etc they wont last very long and arent worth the cash[]

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
I looked at the TT-01E today at my LHS. It looks like you could purchase the A and D parts to convert an existing TT-01 to an E model. The only thing I'm not sure about is the steering requires two threaded studs and two aluminum collars about 3/4" long. These parts came in one of the parts bags and I'm not sure which one. I haven't seen any parts for the TT-01E other than the A and D and bearings. The bearings are the same with the exception of an additional 4 used in the steering. Anyone tried the conversion yet?

Looks like you had a hell of a time getting the ecu in there Good work.
Here's my TT01 with way too many hop-ups. I bought it to try and race, but a TA05 was a better bet. I bought a TA05R and I'm preparing that for racing. I was thinking of using the TT01 as a drifter. My wife would probably get a little unhappy if I described these as my 3rd and 4th child [8D]
I bought the TT01 as an RTR and the TA05R as kit. I really enjoyed adding the hopups to the TT01 but I don't think I'd get an RTR again. Building them is just way too much fun.
