RE: Official HPI E-10 Thread
Keep in mind that this MAY work. It seems to me like the Uni's are too long/the aluminum hubs a bit too thick.. I could be completely off base.
Pretty sure that is the HPI locked spool BTW.
I was thinking about hitting up a radio shack and picking up the needed LEDs and resistors. I just wanted headlights and taillights. Nothing fancy. I am using the extra slot of my receiver for my heatsink fan tho so I may have to add a power source. I am solid with the soldering iron so I could do pretty much any setup once I figure out how to do it.

somerenegade
when i was using a fan i just made a doubble adapter with a switch on ONE end for the lights.
DRVNFAST, So from what u are saying does the hub seat correctly when its fitted with out the drive shaft (sit flush against the hub & well clear from caliper)??????
from your pics it does look like the shaft it too long for the alloy hubs, u can see the dog bone end is pushed all the way into the diff cup & when u tighten it it binds.
ok your cheepest solution will be to get some stock drive shafts for the rear, ( Just to make shure test ur front shafts in the rear) if that works just copy the front.
Soon im planing to get some alloy hubs for my car, but i plan to mesure the diffrence with a vernier & file down the alloy one.
its either the recess for the shaft or the tabs sticking out. It should be very easy to file it with a fine file & a right angle ssqure

Thanks, I'll give that a shot.

RE: Official HPI E-10 Thread
Hey, I just got an e10 and upgraded the esc, motor and battery to get it to go as fast as possible and I've grinded down the bevel on the diff gear set. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have any suggestions on a fix for this problem? ( I'm refering to the plastic part on the 88000 Diff Gear Set (15/38T)) I'm also having issues with the main shaft vibrating a lot due to the high rpm; any fixes?<div> <div>I'm running an lrp 3.0T brushless motor with the lrp Sphere ESC and a Venom 7.4v 8000mah lipo battery. </div></div>

Dammm nice setup...
Ive found that the HPI alloy main shaft reduces most of the vibrations. & a set of ballbearings might be a worth while upgrade
what do u mean by "I've grinded down the bevel on the diff gear set" If u mean u wore it out, it mean that the gear mesh was incorrect, u might have to fit some shims...

I already upgraded the main shaft to aluminum and I'm still getting tons of vibration. What are your thoughts on the atomic carbon fiber shaft? Thanks for the shim idea. I'll update you on the progress.

hey
I dident know there was a carbon fiber one, might be worth giving it a shot. Just wondering have u checked the shaft bearings for excessive movement? or the only other thing i can think of is the shaft is bent or out of ballance....
Are u able to upload a vid on youtube???

RE: Official HPI E-10 Thread
Hello everyone, im new to rcu ive been reading mostly just getting my information that way. But i have a question since im pretty new to elect. rc im more into nitro, but I have the hpi e10 and I want a little more power. I was looking into the hpi drift 15t motor which I hope is just a simple swap, plug and play? Or do I need to make some changes? Also I was also looking into the castle creations sidewiner 3800kv system, which I know it more work to get it to work with the e10. But what would I need to make the castle work with the hpi? Thank you for your help in advance...

RE: Official HPI E-10 Thread
I've done a full upgrade on my e10: Atomic RC suspension, Viper 8000mah 2s Lipo battery, hpi Aluminum shaft, LRP 3.0 brushless motor with LRP sphere ESC and spektrum 2.4ghz radio control. I also upgraded the bearings to ceramic bearings. I recomend upgrading the beargings because a brushless motor puts out higher RPM and I actually melted the plastic bearings it came with and grinded down the bevel gears in the Differentials. Im still trying to figure out the problem with the drive shaft because there is a lot of vibration. I don't recomend gotting such a fast motor but i like the overkill.

<font color="#00265e" size="2">PHRESHKHID</font> - try turning the small trim looking knob on the back of the transmitter/controller. I made this mistake when i first gt this car. I already fitted a longer servo arm before i figured this out. Doh. Took it off again after.
I have a question.
Hot Racing Alu motor mount sucks. Its thicker than the original one, so the motor is set further back. Therefore only half the pinion meshes with the spur gear, and the cover doesnt fit. Any ideas??
BTW I just got the alu brake discs (from ebay australia! only place i could find them)- and there are awesome. I like the way they have the shims built in to them. The guy who had my e10 before me had not installed the shims, so the wheels were loose all the time, and the plastic discs broke. Shame i ordered new hubs with additional shims before they arrived. wont need them now.
Im gonna get an ezrun 60A 9T to go in it soon, but want the motor mount working first. I've also got the alu shaft to fit.
My bro just put a 13.5t 35A ezrun in his yokomo (off ebay) and it is FAST on only at 7.4v NIMH. It beat my mates petrol car.

Hey m8, im using the Yeah racing motor mount & it works great for me, I think your main problem is that u have not adjusted the pinion gear. just loosen off the grub screw & move it up or down so it is allighned, now the cover should fit.
damm that sucks about the shims...
To save a bit of cash look at the ezrun/Yeah racing brushless 35a ESC & motor. thay work a treat. I run them im most of my 1/10 r/c. & on a 11.1v lipo it flys

are u planing to use the traxxas hump pack? i havent found a mount for the E10 that wont interfear.
ballbearings are well worth fitting & have a look at the alloy motor mounts.
