RE: Project Log: The Competitor
Whew I've been in Illinois for the past two weeks with my grandparents who don't even own a computer much less have internet. I did manage to get access at my uncles house for a day though. Anyways I spent all my free time without internet going through the help menus of Autocad and managed to figure out how to do some basic 3d drafting. Here is a simple 3d view of my final chassis design.

Thank you very much. I agree it should come out pretty clean indeed. Hopefully I can get a few more pieces cut out tomorrow.

RE: Project Log: The Competitor
My older Inventor or Solidworks programs won't install on anything past Win XP SP2 They all worked fine before that! Yay - looks like I'll have to yet again get the really crappy Autodesk student version of their garbage again
I'll shop around for DSS 1st though.

Depro,
I to have started from scratch making my own RC. Below are some screen shots I just took. Would you be interested in sharing some CAD files? What program are you using? I primarily work in AutoCAD, but I am waiting on a seat to open on Inventor so I can start building from there.
Have you ever tried 3D printing your own parts?
