My TT-01
Topcad Damper suspension
Full Ball Bearings
Tamiya Medium Narrow wheels and tyres
Aluminium Shaft
24/55 Gearing
Apex Equal ESC
Associated LRP V 10 Turn motor
Heatsink
Yeah it is geared real long and gets very hot , so i only do a few straight long runs down the street and then put it away . It has been going on this combo for 4 packs and i cant believe nothing has broken yet

brisben: a few straight runs? How long does that last? Dont you wish you could just drive it regularly? About how fast do you think it goes?

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
Well with Intellect 6 cell 3000 battery it gets about about 6 or 7 minutes run time flat out with the 10 turn . I can drive it regularly because i have a sports tuned motor on another motor mount with the pinion gear fitted so i just swap that in . I dont know how fast it goes with the 10 turn , but i will try and radar it within the next week .

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
hey everyone,
First off, let me say that I am a complete and total NEWB and I'm looking for my first car (or any RC for that matter). I've been reading for the last week or so about different RC cars and I like the TT-01, I'm not a racer, it'll just fly around some of the area parking lots with my friends "toy grade" rc cars.
I have a couple of questions and since this is the "official" thread on this car I figured this is a good place to ask them:
1. Should I get a kit car or a RTR? I've been looking at this one.....[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJSV9&P=7]Tamiya XB Raybrig NSX 2004 RTR TT-01[/link] and It also comes in kit form, but then I would have to get a radio and stuff and I know nothing about which to get. Also, with the RTR the body comes pre-painted/stickered which for me is a plus.
2. Batteries? What will give me the longest run time with the stock motor/gears?
3. Will this car be able to break the tires loose on command? does it have that kind of power, or can it be made to via upgraded motor/gearing?
Basically, what I want to know is if you could go back and buy another one knowing what you know now, what would you get? Kit/RTR? and If kit what peices to complete it? batteries? charger?
I'm sorry for all the newb questions. any help is appreciated.

2. Some GP3300 at radio shack are fine or you could get a duratrax 3600mah Nimh pack(i have one and its a great performer)
3. What do you mean by "break loose"?
Some worthy upgrades for the tt-01:
1. Aluminum Prop Shaft - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXETM7&P=Z
2.Metal Motor Mount - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFSE7&P=Z
3.Ball Bearing Set - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBUA9&P=Z
Those are some upgrades that are a MUST. Also, a 22t / 23t Tamiya Pinion Gear Set and a 55T/ 58T spur set.

this sux, i cant find anyone in the USA that makes tt-01 hop-ups. All the companys that sell em are in hong kong. Ive already ordered stuff from rcmart through ebay, but im now worried that i wont get em, have you ever seen their feedback score? Anyone know a dealer in the USA?
