my tt-01 has only been used for about like 3 months and the bottom of the chasis is so scratched.is anybody else like this?
also i would like to know what upgrades i need for it to drift well.
i have the hpi drift tires,ball bearings,alum. shaft.
and i also have a dynamite vision peak ultra charger and was wondering if its worth 100 dollars.

Hello to all forum contributors,

My son an I just got a TT-01, have upgraded to bearings, shaft, and heat sink,
It has a Tamiya TEU 101BK speed controller,I would like to get some more speed out of it,

We put our trusty Hot Wheels Radar on it and clocked it at 22kms this sounds very slow compared to some of the speeds quoted in this forum.

Can anyone give some recomendations on motor and gearing upgrade's using same ESC, I know i'm limited to 23 turn motors with this ESC,

Is there a large range of 23T motor manufactures,

Are any of these tamiya motors ok, TAMIYA RS-540 Sport Tuned 23T Motor Part No: 53068 better than a TAMIYA GT-Tuned 25T Motor - Part # 53779
or the TAMIYA SUPER STOCK RZ 23T motor,

right your after speed yeah?and u wanna stick with a 23t motor,well id go with the rs tamiya motor plenty of torque in that motor and for top speed your gonna need to grab some spare pinions and spur gears,below is the combos for pinion/spur

im using the 25/55 combo for top end and it does fly but watch the speed anything after that and the tt-01 suffers alot control wise.

happens to all touring cars, even on prepared racetracks, just how it is. good thing about the tt-01 is the whole chassis part is only 8 bucks!

There isn't much more you need, the rest of the upgrades are to improve handling and smoother power delivery. next things i suggest you look into are shocks, the tie-rod set, and the the alu steering. They will help with the handling and make the steering more precise.

edit: the charger looks quite good feature wise, no nothing about how good it is to use though, don't hear much about it.

That esc is stated to be limited to 23t, but i ran mine with a 17 and a 19T motor. performed perfectly but gearing plays a big role on how well it will work.

Its how motors are classified. 23T is an abbreviation for 23turns which means the wire in the motor is wrapped 23 times around the center armature(spinnign thing inside the motor)... general rule is the higher the turns the more torque and lower rpms the motor produces. lower turn, lower torque, higher rpm.

try a 21 doubel turn mike should give you the speed you need or if you feel daring look for the checkpiont money 19t motor im using that one now and its quick for a 19t

I want to use these HPI wheels on my TT-01-- do I get the ones with or without the 3mm offset? It says these tires will work for both 190mm and 200mm, but it doesn't say which size need which wheels. I suspect the TT-01 uses the wheels WITHOUT the offset, but I want to make sure. Thanks

what body are you using? 190mm 0-offset, 200mm 3-6offset depending on the wheel wells.

Mine the black wheels and tyres in the pic above are HPI with 6mm offset in makeing wider wheel base not used yet just finished today.

The body I'm using is the Schnitzer M3. I believe it is 190 mm, so that should mean the no-3mm offset.

Some nice focus'sz out there, and some helpful advice. Got i bit of shopping to do,

The black spoiler is carbon fibre sticker, also made red pin stripes for wheels.
Just got new cam with better quality so will be having some fun with that. mounted it on back spoiler for the a try but get to much bounce on video and makes the car unbalanced and easy to roll, it's still fun getting it up on 2 wheels,
I get a too much bounce on rougher roads, will post onboard video soon.

My wiring needs a tidy, using Dick Smith2000mAh battery's, Futaba Megatech control,

Got to keep an eye on stones/pebbles, as a stone got caught between motor and alloy shaft and turned it down a fraction. Have a look in pic,
will make some type of cover before i do that again, fully dissasembled cleaned is ok once in a while, dont have time to clean all the time,
so more fun on the street. going to get some drift tyres too, we put some tape on the tyres that was ok, is there a great difference in grip between plumbing pipe and brand name drift tyres

hay everyone.

I got a problem, ive had my TT-01 for 1-day and it was great at drifting with some insulation tape on it but i had to take apart the servo sterring rods for some stupid reason and now when i put them back on the way everyone else's is and the way the manuel say part of the servo rod thing rubs on the prop shaft so i'm grounded at the mo its annoying, can someone help plz?

are you sure its not mounted backward or upside down. The big "bridge" thing taht joins the two swing arms is arched upwards to clear the prop shaft,

yeah it is arched upwards but it still doesnt clear the prop shaft well meaning i can only steer to the left.

alright its fixed now yay! as it turned out the steering arms were pretty much in the right place but one of the gears in the back end of the car was in the wrong way around and wouldnt let the prop turn.
so i went out drifting it today through a gap just bigger than the car itself when sideways, that was a laugh.

just one thing thats bugging me is that it turns left on its own, o yeah and i was a bit concerned that when the car went about 15-20 feet away, the signals seem do get distorted i would press accerlarate and it would, and then it would accelerate again on its own and sometimes from only 10-15 feet away it wouldnt reverse when i wanted it to! any ideas? This has only happened once, and therefore only in that place but ive been there before and it didnt happen could it be because the battery was low?

After putting the body on the chassis, I noticed that the rear wheel well flares out about 10 mm more than the front wheels. If the front wheels are 190mm, it's safe to say that the rears are 200mm. Does that mean that I want the no-offset wheels for the front, and the +3mm offset for the rears?

One more thing: it's probably obvious, but can anybody confirm that these tires will fit the standard Tamiya TT-01 51mm wheels? It says the inner diameter is 43mm, but I'm pretty sure that accounts for the lip/bead lining the inner tire. Also, will it also fit the wheels I linked above (the non-offset ones)?

thats a little ackward.... it shouldnt' be that wide apart.... im using the wider rear axles in the back and they don't stick out that much... The m3 body has flat sides by the looks of some pictures unlike the FXX body which gets wider in the rear, hence the need for the wider axles in the rear. You want want to check the manual again on which axle and hex to use, It should tell you which one you should use for the body.
