I've got a late 1940's plastic am radio that was painted ivory white. It has an unusual style and is worth restoring, but I've delayed because of having to remove the paint. I thought of glow fuel the other day and it eats thru the old paint in seconds.

I think that you my be the person I am looking for, I received a FA-90-T 4stroke it was in a box the cam covers are off the motor can you tell me how to time the motor ? I saw the timing marks on the cam but not sure how to set the timing on the crank. Hope you can help. (e-mail [email protected])
Well for the twin you get to do it twice, but the instructions are the same. You set one cylinder, then rotate the crank one turn and set the second cylinder cam timing.

then there is this one too

I forget if the little twins used a tee shaped lifter or not, so using the second link might woirk better for you.

The port cylinder is set & the crank is rotated 180 degrees to set the other, not a full turn.
The smaller twins use FA50 valve trains just like the medium/small singles.

Well to add more to it, you can see how Saito says to do it here in this manual https://www.greathobbies.com/manuals...n_cylinder.pdf

That manual covers the FA90TS which is an even firing boxer twin. If the OP has the uneven firing FA90T, the timing will be like that described in the FA100T, FA130T & FA182TD section.
Weather was nice enough to fly yesterday. I gather my things and discovered my starter batteries were dead. Hoping today is nice enough again, temps will be, but supposed to have more wind than yesterday, which on the first day to fly in the season, may or may not be a god thing.

^ acdii, lol! Been there done that. I've had dead starter batteries, dead glow plug igniters, had a starter just stop working, heck I've even dragged everything to the field, no one else there on a beautiful day, and forgotten my glow igniter!
And yes- from one Illinois resident to another, we could do without the constant wind. I'm hoping to get some Easter flying in today

So glad I don't have to deal W/glow plugs anymore!

It it will soon pay for itself in better fuel economy. Anywhere from 20 to 70% improvement.
Especially if you go for this induction modification which can be applied to any Saito 3-cylinder radial.

I saw the post about Keleo and had to chime in. I have all good things to say about Kelvin at Keleo Exhaust.
Although my exhaust for my 125 is not as complicated as a radial exhaust, I couldn't be more satisfied with the product or Kelvin himself for that matter. The exhaust performs and sounds awesome.
I originally had a problem with exhaust leakage and it turn out to be a poor mating surface caused by the powder coating process. After talking with Kelvin about it, he followed up with sending me a new pitts muffler which corrected to problem. He personally called me a couple months later to follow up and make sure that everything was ok. That's what I call excellent customer service. Thanks Kelvin
