You need to call Adrian as the site does not list all of the available system applications. Generally, a complete plug & play system for a Saito will run about $125. That will include a module, magnet ring & hall sensor W/mount. You'll also need a batter pack, switch & spark plug.
Trev i like your sense of dry humour.Half suggesting you should do a prop shear and screamer run on a fourstroke saito to pick the best engine out of three was a hoot mate.Apart from rossi was it nelson pylon engines they did that to? if it screamed and did'nt seize it's a keeper.Don't go turning into a ch ignitions sparky guy for gawds sake mate. They've got no sense of humour..
Barry those days were fun for our generation, beats being out with heaps of people interacting with their phones mate

A quick thought to throw out here.Apart from flying a nicely tuned saito close to yourself (and you can't beat that going by for sound) what's the second best sound you could ever hear ?? (you can't include silence whether it's from the handbrake or others) for me it's v8's next weekend at our mountain circuit bathurst..trev to do you remember the wild seventies up on the hill watching and it was the sound of thunder (v8's) or chunder (being sick) and getting beaten up by cops cause you were stupid enough to ride a bike ?

The Saito is the second best sound, Best sound I can't mention here without getting it deleted.

I didn't try anything beyond 33° BTDC on the FA-100, I set up. It ran so good at 33° W/the Onega fuel I didn't feel the need to try more advance.

I just measured the hi compression .80's prop drive, I'm going to do it too. But I need the whole system for that. I ran the 1.00 yesterday and put 16 oz of the WildCat 2/4 through, I pulled the back plate a while ago and everything is wet and oily and there is a bout a table spoon full of residual oil in the crankcase. A good sign in my book.

The chunker turret on an AH-1 Cobra firing 40 mm grenades like a machine gun sounds really good. More in line with Old Fart, standing behind the starting line without ear protection when a top fuel NHRA funny car gets the green light is an experience you will never forget. It shakes your internal organs and you feel it.
The Saitos all seem to have their each distinctive sound. The 56 seems to be universally well liked. I also like the sound of the 72 wide open when it is propped right to hit around 10,000+ on the ground. It gets this deep sound I don't think the other Saitos have. The 125 seems to not get the better sounds, imo.

The Saito 180 I had 3 years ago didn't sound very melodious, but then I was somewhat intimidated by that beast. I can manage the 82 and 91 a little better. They sound even nicer on the Turboheader.

H-man, I had an Enya 1.55 for a while, while it was not much louder than the Saito 1.50 it had a really irritating sharp bark in the exhaust note. The Saito 2.20 I had for a while was much more pleasant to hear.
My Thunder Tiger 75 sounds fairly nice, with stock or Turboheader. My OS 70 Surpass II sounds kinda generic, for lack of a better word. It is a 4-stroke sound, but nothing unique to me, stock or Turboheader.

Old Fart, now I am official a DOM I lok back a bit and the most memorable sounds are as follows
1/ Night shift cold clear Melbourne night (all stars no cloud) the sound of 4 x Alison 504's or P&W 2000's churning and burning
2/ The sound of the XY GTHO's or L34's / SLR 5000's burning around the mountain before they put that stupid bend in conrod and the rev up over the bump at the vineyard. I never indulged in the drunken parties at the top of the mount, the chardony set was my style especially when George Shepard (Holden) or Bill (forget his last name boss of Ford were paying). Ansett supported alternately Ford and Holden during 60's and early 70's and we flew gear etc in F27 freighters to Bathurst each year. Ansett had the only combined vertical and horizontal milling machine in southern hemisphere much sort after by engine builders and largest autoclave for building fibreglass bits. The last year I was "really" there was the year Brocky won by 5 laps and broke the lap record 3 times in thos 5 laps.
The sound of all Saitos are good especially when going to the heavens as quickly as the nitro fuel will let them

Don't do it !! you'll end up saying something that will get you deleted
Thanks for your opinions on which saito you think sounds good, spose it's different for all.liking it is the most fun next to flying them.Standing behind a nitro funny car is awesome when they hit the throttle stings yopur eyes tho.Neighbour was complaining about me bench running engines so i shut the shed door thinking that would keep him happy, nitro really burns your eyeballs.I'd like to see one of those chunker turrets chucking 40mm grenades mate.Back in the service days you would be butt (bench) testing 20mm aircraft cannon into a sandbox fifty feet away. When you hit the trigger it was all shock waves and sound man, like a good fa220 with a straight pipe and some nitro.
Chardonnay trev?? so..it was you we should have been rolling, throwing or emptying beer cans down the hill at.Next thing you know barry will be asking you for some wine tasting tips mate hows the flying ?
Ours is crap, only day we flying mates get is a sunday and every sunday this last month or more has been bad.Tomorrow it's 25 knots wnw and gusting to 30 knots sw late afternoon.I've flown the deccy in gusty 20 knot plus winds before will see what rolls out tomorrow weather wise.Just bench ran the 82 for a final tweak and will put the cowl back on now.Batteries are all charged.
ps a small translation..ansett as trev mentioned was an australian airline, they flew fokker friendships as he says. There's a joke in there but i can't say it.

The Pratt and Whitneys win.
I don't ride scooters, that's for sure.
I have both a 30 and a 170R3 that I haven't run yet. The 170R3 does sound good in YouTube videos.

Great day, 10 minutes to the flying field. I didn't fly just helping my o0ld mate get his act together with some "foamies".. AKA flogging a dead horse. Tomorrow going to unleash the re assembled Duration models. I have noted the lengths some people go to when confronted with stuck valves. Tried and true methods of introducing some fuel to the dry engine and rocking the prop until full rotation is achieved followed by an engine run and check for dodgy bearings seems to confound some or maybe it is because they like pulling other peoples engines apart. Who knows.
Old Fart the old F27 was probably the most rugged of the early turbo props and I still see some operating up in Indonesia at times. The Dart 532 was virtually indestructable as well. Ahh memories.

Nice posting that mate it's my dream engine in a corsair, one day maybe.
Well guys no flying, you could'nt even get out of the car hardley so came back to the shed with a few mates for a beer and i broke the wall mounted beer can crusher..when it's not your day it's not your day.Mind you the beer can crusher has probably done more cycles than all my saito pistons put together so i should'nt complain,in fact i'm not

Barry, I had the pleasure and indeed it was, of riding in both a Short Brothers 330 and a 360 out of Pittsburgh, Pa. The pleasure was not entirely in the ride but in the almost unequaled safety record of the Short's planes.
The Saito .45 I've been waiting for did not come yesterday as the tracking number originally said it would. the t# now shows it as just leaving Fla. yesterday. Maybe Monday. By the way, I like the WildCat 10% full synthetic fuel I just got. Look at this smooth as silk idle I got on the little Saito .30 The prop is a Bolly 10x5.5. 2,200 plus a few ain't bad and it sounded nice and solid.
