I already have the Trex500 in my DX6i model #5. I have a scratch on the window on my Dx6i
i just tried to polish out with some plastic polish for convertable top windows and it did not work
its still there. I called Horizon Hobby and they said the Trex500 were supose to be in the begining of November. When I ck my order history it says pending not sure what that means.
I hate waiting. Can't beleave the wife ok it, I told her I wanted a kit heli to build to keep me busy and she said good it will keep you out of my hare. I am retired now for 3 years and its getting too cold to ride my Harley here in Pgh Pa.

Hey Carl,

You may want to check this out....

Don't know if that's exactly what you were looking for, but it looks like a good deal to me...

I just measured the center of the holes and the sleeve is half a millimeter lower than the mainshaft hole. There is no way I can get them to align with the tools I have. I went to power tools and it still wouldn't work on this metal. I am going to see if Horizon can send me some free parts.

Nick,

That is weird on the holes not lining up...it was all together and flying, right? Wonder how they got out of whack and won't go back together right? Like you thinking about my situation, it's hard for me to picture...

That metal may be high carbon steel, or even stainless steel, both of which are hard to work with as far as drilling, cutting, etc.

I remember trying to cut a stainless steel exhaust pipe on my Grand National...holy crap, I went through about a dozen hacksaw blades before I got through the 2 1/4 inch hollow pipe...

Hopefully, Horizon will help out. I know their warranty service on Eflite stuff is awesome, but I don't know about Align stuff.

Good luck,

Glenn

Glenn,

I am assuming the holes never lined up out of the box, since I had to apply a lot of force to get the bolt through the assembly from the start. I just don't feel good about flying with the bolt not going through easily because it kind of has to bend up to go through half of it and then bend back down to go through the other hole.

I will be back later. I am kind of running late for school.

Hey Evan,

Looks like we should both have brand new helis to fly this weekend!

Maybe Jeff can join in too....if he doesn't get TOO anal on his build...LOL!!

And if Heli gets his parts all in...maybe all 3 of us...

That should be cool...I think it's going to be an active time on the forum this coming weekend!

Hey guys,

Something gives me the feeling that the 500 is going to have just a WEE bit more power than the Blade 400....LOL!!!

Evan,

With ping pong balls, 1/4 inch wooden dowel rods, and a block of wood...

I'll take some pics and post them after dinner...it's really easy and cheap to make...

Some guys use carbon fiber rod, but there's no need to spend that much...wooden dowel rods are dirt cheap, and easy to find and work with...

Evan,

Not sure on the RPM...but the Trex motor is brushless, yeah...

It's going to have plenty of power, that is for sure....don't forget that it's also getting twice the voltage...22.2 volts from the batteries...

BRB....

Evan,

This should help...pretty self explanitory...

The block I am using here is pretty big, I could cut the weight down by using a thinner block, but the extra weight will help with the stability of the heli while you are learning.

I got the ping pong balls at a sporting goods store, and all the rest at Lowe's, including the small, self tapping wood screws for the ping pong balls..

LOL, I even got the cool basketball style ping pong balls...

If you have a cat, expect the same....LOL!!

Evan,

Here is a pic to give you an approximate size compared to the heli itself...

Evan,

That's cool that it is on order! That's a good start, hopefully it will all work out for you on Saturday.

You are welcome, I just posted those as an idea, you can do them many different ways. I just wanted something cheap and easy to build.

I am actually going to use them for the first spool up and take off of the 500....just in case! Sometimes when you first fly a heli for the very first time, you don't know exactly what to expect...so I don't want something stupid like a blade strike to happen right off the bat...

Nick, Jeff,

I reinstalled the main/tail gear, and I'm going to go with it like that, I'm pretty sure it'll be fine.

I am doing my EC3 male end connectors on the ESC now....I more or less ruined the first one, did much better on the second. Good thing I have extras..LOL...

I got some tips online by googling it...came up with a guide from Horizon. I was trying to use too much solder in the "cup" at first. A little goes a long ways...

Jeff,

The EC3's work pretty well when all is said and done...just takes a little practice....as you know!

Glenn and the thread Possie,

I saw that video yesterday by accident while was going through the sight looking some other infor I'll get to in a moment. I too would have used to much solder. That guy makes it look so easy. Like "Jeff" I want it right "perfect" so that means lots of solder. But after wathcing that vedio yesterday clearly LESS IS MORE. I was by FRY Electronics today and was going to get the new charger I had looked at few weeks ago but had tools and invertory in the back of my truck and i was just to chicken to leave there to se if it would be there when I came back out. Tomorrow I am off so I'll go pick that baby up.

Flew 3 packs today the Fly Park with big boys. Did not get smiles from any of them, they all had 600's and kind looked down their noses at my little 401.
You know what I say ****-** they don't pay my bills.

My C505 Eflite charger died a few hours ago. It charged my MCX battery twice then quit the other day and would no longer take a single cell. Today it crashed and will no longer accept any battery. It comes up with error signals, low battery voltage, or battery connection lost. I called HH and they said; SEND HER IN. Thank God I have three more chargers, one good one and two factory 400 idiot boxes. I am kind like you all and "NICK" with 7 chargers, I just want to CYA myself.

Also this weekend I broke down and bought a charging bag and inxtension wires from my charger to the battery so the charger is not right next to the bag. The LHS showed a burnt spot on the floor, through the old floor tile down to the concrete! Then he showed me the side of the counter where when the battery exploded (single cell) on the counter they shoved it off to the floor. Then too one of the guys that used ot work there burnt DWON half of his garge with a bad battery...................so the bag is a good investment from my point.

Nick I hope you get your issue straigtened out.

Evans got BUYERS remorrise................this too will pass as they say CONGRADULATIONS!

Carls wife is so cool to stand behind him and send him down for his 500.

Jeffery, what thet heck are you up to? Are you over the bugging poor Dave LMAO
