Have you flown it? Or have you just not completed it yet. Do Wendells plans call for FG fuse.. I thought all Wendells stuff was Balsa/Ply built up... ya know "we do it the Old Fashioned way"...
IF you have flown the Lancair, curious about performance, engine you used, weight of the completed model. I have always loved the looks of that plane since it was first published in the full scale mags.
Tnx... for the info...
Oh btw- how does the "Collective" work on that Lancair?
best regards,

Nope haven't flown it, bought it off Ebay about a year or so ago. It was an aftermarket fuse for the giant scale racers based of Hostetlers plans.
From those that I talked with about it, they were running 200cc motor, with speed well over 200 up to 250.
Theres also foam wings available for it, and I'm sure by now a full composite is out there. Retracts were pricey in the 6 to 700 range as I recall.
I did play with it abit though, and fit a 3W 212 4 cylinder under the cowl. I've got the info somewhere on the prop they are using, something like a 24x22 APC.
I'll get around to it one of these days, I've got a couple of turbine to build first though.

Thanks FL- I have about ten planes hanging over at the house. But I'm constantly trying to get more toys. Notice under the Stainless table, I have two kits and one Arf to build. Also have a couple of kits on top of one of the rolling shelf systems to build. This does not count 12 to 15 sets of plans I have in the house to build. If I did'nt have to work for a living I might actually get some of them built. However I work so I can buy more kits... when my wife is not looking. ha ha

Weasel Keeper,
You're very observant, Indeed it is a ten inch Craftsman and it has been a great addition to my shop. I got it with a Christmas bonus from work last year. It has a tilt table on it along with an adjustable fence. It in conjunction with the scroll saw gives me a lot of ability especially when I'm building from plans. I think I paid about $150 for it. It came with a 1/2 inch blade but I just bought a 1/4 inch blade which should help me with a lot of the tighter radius cuts that we modelers run into.

Bill,
Well I've been eyeballing it in the store for some time now. It looks like a very nice machine for the price. I have to fly under the expenditure radar so as not to attract to much attention from the BOSS. Thanks for the info.

Weasel,
You won't be sorry. It is a very good machine for the price.
Learned,
I like the cabinets. Also, That building table should support a large wing. From the pics it looks like you have some pretty nice birds there.

That 30% makes me drool. Hope it works well for you. I have numerous planes, "all glow", I plan to build my first gasser this winter. You may have seen the kit under the stainless table in my prev post. It's a 89inch Dyna flight Super Decath.
