Glad you're OK, Tim. I thought the first thing done on the scene was to kill the electric, or am I way behind the times? At least you are OK, and that's the important thing.

ORIGINAL: Fireman Tim
Well I and nearly died last week at work. I was almost electrocuted at work while fighting a fire last Tuesday night. While commanding an interior attack team at a fire in an abandoned night club, a spiders nest of arcing power lines nearly fell on my head. We had zero visibility and no second means of escape (both carnal sins in the Fire Dept). Afterwards, I had some hard questions for the Incident Commander like 'Why didn't you have a ventilation plan?', and 'why are we risking our lives for an abandoned property?'. The fire could have gotten much worse if we had not found it so quickly as there was flash-over potential (think room exploding into flame). I been pretty shook up about it over the past few days and I am glad to be alive.

RE: The Tanker's Lounge
It was our first fire with a new Platoon Chief. We assumed that he paid attention to his training , that he did a risk assessment, that he had a plan. We can't always have the power shut off before we make entry and none of us had any idea of the wiring conditions inside, but it was a tacticly irresponsible to send crews inside. Now the platoon has lost confidence in his abilities.
Happy thoughts! SLU order is in! Gotta get them out so Santa can deliver them in time for Christmas.

Thought a good story would be nice.Back in the middle 50's (wow where did all the years go ) I have to give credit to my 5 th grade teacher who got me started in hobby's.He was not only a great teacher when it came to teaching, but also injoyed building model airplanes. For several months every day of the week we had hobby time in the class (one hour in the afternoon) to work on any hobby related item we chose to work on.In those days the stick model rubberband powered airplanes where cheap to buy and fun to build.(don't know if they even make them anymore) Some of the older members will mabe remember them, they were paper covered and we used the old testers fast drying glue. Now they keep this glue locked up if they even carry it to keep the morons from sniffing it.This teacher started me in a lifelong injoyment in building model airplanes and other hobbys.
How much i miss the way life in America was in the 50's & early 60"s.
Have a happy Holliday and a better new year.........

Well my son had a wing and the guts out of a plane he and a friend had crashed many times so he handed me the wing and a bag full of batterys, motor, and radio gear and asked me if i could use them..........Well decided to take a shot at building one that looked something like the original.Had all the stuff sitting around waiting to be used and this is what i spent the last couple of weeks off and on building. It,s not fancy but was a fun project............What i started with and what i ended up with....

The holiday prep has been eating all my time but I will do a build thread thread once i really get cutting...I have not decided if I want to make the tank rwd or not....panzertracks 20.1 says the e50 was supose to be rwd but thedrawings are for a fwdtank. As it stands, a fwdbuild will just mean just changing the angles of the front hull to 60 degrees upper and lower. A rwd build should lower the hull roof and maybe movethe turret forward...the turret is going to be a modded king tiger turret as there was no turret designfor the e-tanks.
