flesche, Did you have to do any modifications to get them to fit? Also, will they close far enough to allow the gear cover/doors to close properly.
I am in the process of building one and would appreciate any detail you may be able to offer.
Thanks.

To all the CARF viper builders
I decide to change the way to lock the wing to the fuse very easy i recommend
The way CARF made how to lock the wings iis very Uncomfortable
i glue with Epoxy Structural very strong M6 screw in the wind 2 cm front of the wing tube
the i drriled 8 mm hall in the fuse that the screw will go in the fuse when i assambeld the wing
now from the inside of the fusalge is just locking the screws
very easy and very quick
attach some pictures

I am going to add my viper smoke tank on top of the fuel tank
I am sure that there will be enough room to secure he bolt from both sides

I'm not actually doing the full build on this one, I am already building an UF for this customer and I'm committed to four other builds. Just fitting the canopy glass and building the tank before passing over to the customer to build. I'll try and find time to get the wings and stabs out before he collects.

RE: Skygate/CARF Viperjet
Hi
Has anyone got pictures of the CARF / Skygate ViperJet with winglets installed? Please post if you have.
I have the winglets but am very wary of cutting 120mm off each wing (ouch!) to find the aesthetics change due to the resultant +-100mm less wingspan.

RE: Skygate/CARF Viperjet
Test flew my Carf/Skygate Viper Jet on Sunday at the JMA Long Marston jet meet. After Dave Wilshire help me set up the JC 180RX test flew model with no trim problems at all. Flew straight and level both in pitch and roll with not even one click of trim needed. This model is very smooth and easy to fly goes just where you point it.Landing was straight forward after doing gear pass went to full flap and landed first time with a nice touch down. From my 7-8 minute first flight I can tell this is going to be a very pleasant model to fly indeed and will be very easy to bring in on the smaller grass club fields.Conditions were not ideal as we had only light winds most of the day at about 90 deg to the runway. I took off from left to right but landed from right to left but the model just came in as smooth as silk. Most of my control surface movements were as recommended in the manual with the exception of 2mm of down elevator mixed in on full flap(a guess which seemed to work) and 5mm of crow on full flap.Flap settings I used were 40mm take off and 95mm full for landing.I had the CG set at the front edge the main wing tube and this required 375 grams of led right in the nose in front of the small nose bulkhead.Although I did not perform any aerobatics on this first flight as I just like to get a feel for the model first and make sure the landing set up is how I like it I have no doubt this is going to be one fine sports aero machine with it seems no bad vices at all.Carf you have a winner with this one.Phil.
