Throws from the Manual:
Aileron: 3/4" Up, 5/8" Down
Elevator: 5/8" Up, 5/8" Down
Rudder: 1 1/2" L, 1 1/2" R
Down Elevator w/ Full Flaps: 1/8"
I have the CG marked on my R54 at 6 1/4" - 7 1/4" from the LE. Can anybody else verify this?

I recently added a GPS to my R54... looks like my pull-ups/vertical climbs are about 1500 to 1800 ft, and GPS top speeds (not airspeeds) are in the 160 to 180 mph range (probably on the downhill from some of those pull-ups). I did see 220 mph yesterday, but I dont think it was real.
Not bad for my somewhat heavy R54! (21 lbs dry, JetsMunt VT-80 power)

whats the total (dry) weight? I started out flying my 21 lb (dry) R54 with a 14 lb thrust Wren 54 Mk 3.. did just fine and thats only a little bit more thrust than your P60.

wing is 6.5lb ended up needing about 610g in the node along with 2 flight batteries and ecu battery up front
Don't have a scale to weigh the fuse, but it's more than 11 lbs

Oh... 600 grams of ballast plus batteries... thats not unusual. Batteries plus 900 grams would be a bit heavy.
Over 11 lbs for the fuselage depends on how much over. But it should fly just fine.

Well Weight is not an issue 6 Flights on sunday she moves and lands well like a baby,
Bumpy grass strip takes about 150ft to take off lands in a bit less depending on how slow you come in
A few mods i did are relocate the elevator and rudder servo to the rear with cf rods, much better than the flex cable that was in the plane, i had to completely recover the wing it had about a pound of packing tape from the previous owner (My first covering job ever) glassed and painted the fuse and control surfaces.
Using a K-60 running diesel and 5% dte lite
as a side note, one of my friends completed a few rolling circles with it

Congrats! Moving the servos back was the reason for some of the extra nose weight. But, as you found out, its not much of an issue on an R54 until you get really absurdly heavy.

I have no idea where my CG is, I just kept playing with it till I liked the way it flew. I have monster batteries so I can fly all day without charging. I hate dead weight.
If you want to reduce your nose weight, move the turbine as far forward as possible, the starter motor on my turbine is about 1 inch FORWARD of the back edge of the fuse. I just added in some extra ply and notched it out.

John, I carry my R-54 in the back of my 97 Dodge Dakota. I believe the bed is 6 feet long. The fuselage is placed in the bed on a diagonal ((Right front corner to left rear corner of the bed). Perfect fit. The wing is then installed on the opposite diagonal and supported above the fuselage. My other jets, either my Yellow F-22 or my Reaction X sit above the R-54, on a shelf, with the nose extending through the back window into the truck cab. I have a cap on the truck so every thing is secure. To eliminate wind noise when I'm on the road, I put an inflated bicycle tire inner tube between the truck cab and the cap around the rear windows.

My R54 is going to get a workout this weekend.
Our club is having its annual members only picnic and one of the attractions will be my R54 set up with a buddy box for any club members to fly.
This will continue till either everyone that wants to has had a chance to fly it, or I run out of fuel or batteries. I will have my deep cycle battery for charging and 10 gallons of fuel. I only have 2 fuel jugs, but the station I get my fuel from is only 5 miles away from the field.
Last weekend we worked on getting it all set up for the buddy box using the wireless Futaba Buddy box system. All seemed to work out well.
I hope everything holds together.
Last week I had the ply wing mount block delaminate, The wing actually fell off the airplane as I was setting it upside down into the stand for disassembly at the end of the day. I do pull a lot of negative G's while flying. How the wing stayed on in flight I have no idea. I had to cut the old block out and make up a stronger wing mount system. If the wing comes off now, there wont be much else left of the fuse either.
