Nick,

Oh, I see....

I was just reading alot on it over at the HF forums...and some people are having problems like you described, and others are fine...

Let's see how I do, and I'll let you guys know...

BTW...you can go back...just go to the same place you downloaded from, and you can pick a specific version.... i.e. 4.00.xx or wherever we were before...

Nick,

I got G4.5 to run, but it's got some serious bugs...like no sound for one.

It also grinds to a halt when crashes happen...I tried online, and got connected, but it said that chat was disabled, some FMOD thing wasn't working or there....

It needs alot of work!

I'm gonna go back for now, until they get it straightened out.

Evan,

That sounds cool if you can swing it, especially the battery and charger....sounds like your servos are doing pretty well. I still have the stock tail servo on both of mine, and have given me no problems.

You may have issues once you have your first crash...they don't hold up well at all to crashes.

Evan,

Yeah, that would worry me, trying to fix the servos after a crash....that's when alot of the guys say the problems start.

On mine, the servo crapped out on the 3rd battery, the elevator servo lost it's center, and was holding the elevator backwards....good thing I noticed it, if I had taken off, the heli would have come straight back in my face!!

So just be careful if you rebuild them after a crash...

So, the B400's tail holds just a little better than the CP, eh? LOL!

Nick,

Another issue with 4.5 is that some of the custom helis we downloaded have serious issues...so they did change some of the physics on the sim, as they claim.

The T-Rex 450SE V2 has a case of tail wag like you've never seen in your life...LOL!

I'm gonna go back...I never did hear anyone on chat either...

Yeah,

I probably just got a bad one...because my "spare" one hasn't had any issues yet either.

Hopefully, you'll be good, but you'll eventually want to upgrade them...just hope you don't crash because of a servo failure.

And don't bend any tailbooms....they were really hard to find a couple of weeks ago...don't know if it's gotten any better yet...

Nick,

I'm going back to 4.00, there are too many issues with 4.5 right now.

I'll have to switch it back tomorrow, it's too late tonight.

Are you going to do any flying this week?

It's supposed to be cold here, in the lower 40's during the day, maybe some snow showers tonight and tomorrow morning.

Glenn,

Too bad you didn't have any better luck with the new version of G4. Hopefully they fix it soon.

Yeah I try and fly at least once every day unless the wind is too strong no matter what temp it is. But I usually don't fly on days that I work.

I have been flying in 30 and 40 degree temps the past couple of weeks.

Nick,

I'll have to get used to that too....problem I have is that by the time I get out of work, it's dark outside.

I have been considering trying to fly on my lunch break...I could probably fit at least a battery in at the horse track.

I may try that later this week, we'll see.

Yeah, G4.5 needs some work, I think I'll pass until they get the bugs out.

Maybe Phoenix has the right idea....put it out in a beta first, let people use it, and get their feedback.... then fix it...that is exactly what they did for their version 2.0 release that was just made final.

Gotta go,

EVAN,

If your going to repair your servos MOST IMPORTANT !!!! when you take it apart you must reomve the with Lithuim grease as it has tiny pieces of the stripped gears mixed in it which will jam up the new servos gears once you start using them under strees and heat they will float around in the servo.

I had my B400 at my brother inlaws house a few mounths ago. Nice big yard to fly in Virginia.
Every one is outside to watch. I had it up about 15 feet and the elev servo went and down
it came nose first. Lost a battery main shaft canopy spindle main gear and my pride.
Good thing I had my CX2 so I put on a little show with that. I put in Hitec HS-65-HB
servos when I got home and boy what a difference, flys like a dream now.

I just found out I can buddy box my DX6i and my CX2 tx. I tried it with a 1/8 mono
cable and it did not work. I went back to Radio Shack and got the stero one and it works.
I had my 3 year old grand daughter fyling me MCX on it the other day, she loved it.

Trex500 UPS tracking for delivery this Thursday. I up graded the shiping.

Hey Carl,

Could you give me the exact cable that you used from RS. Id like to do that for my grandson too.

Also was there any special set up between the two boxes. I have read a little on that and both boxes have to be set up identical?

JPEE thanks

I got the cable at radio shack 1/8 stereo ends 6foot long it was around 6 bucks. I think they make them for I pods also. Both ends are the same. It works with the MCX and I just tried it and it works with my CX2 also. you have to have both tx on. I use the DX6i and my CX2
transmiters. Just hold the training switch on the DX6i and they can fly with the CX2 tx
and when they get into trouble let go of the trainer switch and you are back in control
works great. I have my DX6i bound to the MCX and the CX2 and my CX2 tx has the
dip switches set for the MCX but I dont think it maters what the CX2 tx is set to becouse they
both fly ok with it.
Do not get the mono end cable it will not work i tried one and nothing happened but it run the batterys down real quick in the CX2 tx
Hope this helps

Any one have a Windows ME system and got a Heli sim to work on it.
I got a GWS cable and tried FMS and one of the other free ones and never got them to work with my DX6i. It would never calabrate in windows or the sim it self. I was going to buy Clearview
but it said on the web site not for Windows ME. I know I need a new computer
but dont want to bring it up to the wife since she okd the T500 and wait till she
sees the visa bill after I been buying trex tools and other stuff.

Guys here is my final balancer design. I found a link to some very good info on balancer design and it helped me get mine working. And right now it balanced the cells to within .01V. The resistors are at 113 degrees if anyone was curious.

hey guys I think I'm gonna make a tally on the main blades to keep track of how many flights I have like a flight log since the dx6i doesn't have one what do you think I might not though it wouldn't look as good

Evan,

That would be OK....until you crash and the blades get blown to pieces...LOL

Might be better to buy a little notebook for a flight log...it's actually a really good idea.

I wish I had kept better track of the B400 flights.

I am going to TRY to stick to keeping a log on the 500...started one, and I have entered my first flight so far.

Did you get to fly any today?

Nick,

Looks good! That one looks like it's a 2 cell, correct?

Glad you found some good info...I'm sure it helped alot.

Did you fly today?

Not much new today, I guess I'm going to put my G4 back to version 4.00 later on.

It was too windy for me to even think about flying today.

Jeff sure has been quiet? Wonder what he's up to? lol!
