It's an even fire twin. Each cylinder is offset 15* for 30* total and the crank is also offset 30*.

On GI they are so imbalanced as far as A/F ratio they sound like a Merlin. For the ADD afflicted, fast forward to 2:36 for the best sound. (this is not my video)

When you add CDI & lean it out, it runs more like an opposed twin. (sorry, no video)

The enya shotgun exhaust pipes look uber cool and it sounds neat at lower rpm but..i'm trying not to crack a bad harley joke.Ok what's the difference between a hoover and a harley? the position of the dirtbag as i said apologies to anyone who may be remotely offended.
Acdc twin carbs or single sooner or later i'm going to catch the magic pixie who sneaks into the shed at night and finally leans an engine off to far, great performance and gets better over time till the damn thing goes f u and how would you like some practice dead sticks.
Dave my dad had a 62 chevy belair with two stage auto and a 283 with a carby conversion think it was a rochester but being 15 and learning to drive in 69 i was full of hippy flat foot, they do sound awesome.

A few specs on the dual four barrel 283 in 1957,
The fuel injected 283 had 283 hp and 290 foot lbs of torque and 10 to 1 compression ratio.
Horizon has a $30.00 off sale going on right now. I have almost all the parts for the broken cylinder 1.00 I acquired a while back.

Why are people intimidated by dual carbs?
Just lean out the HSNs as if it was 2 single cyinder engines going back & forth a few times to fine tune.
Then (if you are blessed with CDI) just lean out the LSN on a particular cylinder until it drops out, then open it back up to a few clicks richer than when it picks back up. Do the same for the other cylinder.
Ok guys it's been a while since i have askes a question. I just love my saitos. And i have acquired a saito 180 and love it. But you have guys at the field that like the like (ys).
The question is witch has more power the awesome saito 180 or the secular ys 140?

What is this "YS" thiong mentioned? Is it one of those heavy objects you use to hold wing skins while they glue or some sort of R/C boat anchor?

This happened to a Saito 1.00 a few months ago, I adopted the thing from the fella and over some time have been buying the parts you see and a few that haven't arrived yet. The Boca bearings should be here today or tomorrow.
