last weekend i organized and made sense of it.
this weekend i got the RC10L to run (still need to mount and paint the body) but iv test driven it and it's ohhh so smooth. then i took apart a bunch of old nicd and nimh packs that were starting to get fuzzy and leak. made up some nimh saddle packs. then i finally tuned the suspension on my clodbuster. iv got 8 AE shocks on it, i changed the shock pistons, went to thinner oil, and took a spring off 1 shock per wheel. it's no longer way over sprung.
"fuzzy"...nice discription .

Acquired a RC10? Now I am jealous.

What would kill me, in terms of desire, would be if Team Associated decided to re-release the RC10T in the next up and coming months. I got myself focused on purchasing one more RC, and only one (land RC anyways). If Panther Step-Pin tires are still available around December, then I'll be a very happy person. I can't be distracted by Team Associated, or any other company, re-releasing stuff.

Stay focused Rusty.

the word floating around the interwebs is that the re-release of the RC10 and RC10 worlds car was a logistics nightmare and major headache and after dealing with that they have no desire or plans to re-release any other models.
i was waiting for the RC10T and/or RC10GT myself. but with the way the worlds car was supported and that fact that it wasn't on the market very long i have no faith that a 10T or GT would be any different and that's to damn much money to sink into something that's not going to be around that long so i wouldn't buy one anyway. im tired of sinking crap tones of money into stuff that's gone 2 years (or less) after i buy it

My B4 is the oldest RC that I currently own. It brings joy most days that I run it, so I don't think I'll part with it any time soon. I change my mind every other month on the subject it seems. Parts support is still great. Once I can't find the CVA bones for the buggy, then I'll know it's time to sell it for next to nothing.

The backyard track is a challenge for both B4 buggy and driver. The buggy didn't see much action this year, because of the rough track. I don't know what got into me, but five packs were put through the buggy in the past two days. That's pretty remarkable seeing as the buggy doesn't get ran more than once every two weeks normally. Once I do get in the mood for buggy bashin', the B4 gets beat up quite a good bit. The buggy's wing really has no effect on aerodynamics for the speeds I run at. As the buggy struggles for traction, and flips from hitting a rock, the wing acts more like a cushion than anything else.

Shock's screw, that connects it to the rear arm, worked it's way loose. LOL. I thought I had caught a rock in the dogbone, which happens from time to time, and locks up the wheel. Not this time. It was the rear shock draggin' on the ground that was causing me to fight the buggy to go straight.

Default When It Rains, It Pours

B4 had the screw come loose at the shock mounting on the rear arm.
Stripped spur gear on Evader ST. The cause? Loosening motor mount screws/aluminum pinion gear.
Note to self: Never buy aluminum pinion gears again!
Wasn't surprised by the eBug's double sided tape failure for mounting/securing ESC to chassis (lost of aerobatic maneuvers gone wrong).
Note to self: Go back to E6000 for more porous plastics.
While fixing/securing ESC to chassis, noticed a bearing was blown at inner gearbox/CVA input cup...started to melt gearbox (picture).

Since eBug will be down for awhile, gone shopping on eBay for gearboxes.
Adding stick-on weights to one SCT to match other SCT setup.
Since the arrival of some soft closed cell AKA inserts happened yesterday, I'll prepping new sets of Step Pins to be glued up .

its for my 3yr old (his first big boy rc)
started out as a parts lot from ebay
3d printed some shock spacers ,tie rods , and a redesigned a trx4 bumper (built it to fit the rustler in tinkercad)
other than new body,and tires/rims
all I had to do was update the front to use the new style hex wheels

Time to hit Yahoo and find out what floating hubs are. That's all new terminology to me. Sacred Riana from AGT? I think she floated once.

i haven't done anything with my RC cars. but i am in the middle of going through a stack of pages i cut out of RC magazines over a decade ago and putting them in protective page holder things and putting in in a 3 ring binder. so pretty soon ill have a 3 ring binder full of 20 year old tech articles on brushed motors, out dated clodbuster hop up information, a few vehicle reviews, readers rides, etc. should be good for at least nostalgia.
i haven't even thumbed through an RC mag in over a decade, haven't bought one sense January 2001. and i can see why. what was a 4 year subscription is going to be a 2" 3 ring binder of actual content that i give a damn about. waste of fricken tree's

well i got productive again. i started the rebuild of the RC10T i was given. took it all apart, cleaned the hell out of everything, rebuilt the trans and diff. got the back end put back together. still working on the front. got the new RPM rear arms installed. still have to finish cleaning the steering parts, and rebuilt the front links with RPM ball cups. got a few minor parts i need to pick up. needs a new front inner hing pin, the rear hub bearing spacers are missing, and i need some shims for the CVD's. no biggie.

ok so the RC10T is now a hing pin and electronics shy of being a runner. i finished rebuilding the shocks and putting the front end together today.
i also started on one of the RC10 buggies. iv got a never used carbon fiber chassis that im planing on using. already got the front suspension cleaned up and on it (minus shocks). might do some work on the steering and rear end tomorrow.

well, minus steering servo mounts the buggy's ready for electronics.
i found out that apparently lipo's are longer than stick packs used to be. i had to drill a couple holes in the mint never used carbon chassis. (then went back and did the same to the RC10T. also realized it needs servo mounts as well). i can't believe how light the buggy is with that chassis.

I took apart some lithium ion drill battery packs and pieced together a couple 4S and one 2S battery packs (with balancer plugs) for my electric starters and bump box. The battery packs were a popular big box store brand and were 5S 1500mAh (20v advertised).

Something that I thought I would never get around to doing...being fed up with 2wd buggy bashing. I started out in the hobby by bashing 1/10 scale 2wd buggies. That was a long time ago. Last week...I had enough. I'm done. My backyard track is just not friendly to lightweight 2wd off-road buggies anymore, especially when running medium compound tires. Buggy and me are parting of our ways .

Default I can't believe I did it!

Yes, I took all electronics out of the B4. I'm almost positive the B4's receiver has never been taken out of the chassis, because white 3M double sided tape was found between receiver/chassis, and I haven't touched that stuff since like...forever.

Now it's time to finally put my good (12 year old?) Futaba 3PM radio gear into my favorite 1/10 RC platform...my T4.2 stadium truck.

I'll crap myself if something goes haywire after I get the receiver mounted up. I only ever had that one receiver for the 3PM radio, 'cause it came with the transmitter, and spare receivers were $79 on a good day. For reasons unknown to me, those receivers are still $79 on a good day. Surely one would think with Futaba's newer radios/receivers, the price would have come down on the older gear . Whatever .

That right there is one pretty awesome ride.

Do you have a build thread somewhere?

parts from AE came in. so the RC10 and RC10T are complete rollers now.
do to having to move the battery tray forward a little im having to shave down the servo mounts on the truck. (i think that servo might be a hair wider (?)) but it's fitting. maybe by the end of the weekend it'll be an ESC and receiver away from being a runner

Spent a while testing and driving my CA-10 + scratchbuild WIP trailer!
Trailer's going to end up with three axles, currently it only has the center axle(I figure that's a good point to test maneuverability with it since itt'l likely pivot near there when done anyway). Truck's brushless, Castle 5700kV on a Mamba Micro X Crawler Edition, sensored operation, with a LESU rear axle 'cause I stripped the stock ring gear twice. Fed by a pair of 2s 50c hardcase lipos in parallel, 5000mAh each. Truck's boss and I'm hoping that, when the trailer's done, I'll be able to carry three complete crawlers on the trailer *and* all manner of batteries and spares in the bed across rough ground. True test will be with a 550cca car battery placed above the tridems, if it can pull that on tarmac itt'l pull any sensible load I ever give it.

Currently prepping to run my SC10GT tomorrow. Have a new lid en route. Gonna be nice hearing the braaaaaap of a throaty li'l nitro again. Been too damn hot for me to stand being outside more than 10-15 minutes, but now that it's cooling off and I can weather the weather I have no excuse not to run the thing. Just hope my fuel isn't shot...

Sweet rig! Always nice to see customs.

And it'll be nice and cold tomorrow, you're lucky, lol. I'm about 100 miles or so south of you, and temps have dropped like an anvil.

I think I've put the whole 1/10 buggy thing behind me. B4 shipped, and delivered to new home.

Ordered a FT4R REDCON Mini Ultralight 2.4G 4CH Futaba FASST compatible receiver to test with my Futaba Tx. Banggood had them on sale for about 30% less than what others are wanting for the same item. The only thing that has me worried is the receiver is not covered with a hard case. I'm guessing the receiver will get my E6000 treatment of installation rather than two sided tape. Have to wait and see how porous the wrapping is. Been wanting to buy extra FASST compatible receivers for a long time now, but every time I look at the price of them, I go and buy two/three receivers for my other transmitters.

Got out there and ran my SC10GT with its new lid on! Just wish it was easier to embed YT videos around here.
