Pete, you can always drag out your 48" Goose Gun and shoot him and then say, oops, I didn't know he was real, he looked like a clay pigeon to me. If that FG 57 is anything like my FG 11 it is a real sweet heart.

PS, I had the big green bicycle out yesterday, sitting for two months and still started on the first compression stroke. It needs a good spring cleaning.
I replaced the stock 200 cca battery with a 310 cca battery, it was 8 years old. It cranks for less than a second and it's running.

Now on the Goose gun it's "Oops, I took it out to clean it and it just went off!" Then they are too busy lecturing you about gun safety to remember you shot the rat with wings! (pigeon) ;-)

You're having better luck than my son he took his Electric Glide Classic out after 2 months sitting and now it won't start no spark!

I have a little used car that will discharge the battery in a week or so. I use a Harbor Freight battery maintainer (about $6,00 on sale). No starting issues now,

Yep, when mine is sitting in my shop the Battery Tender Plus is connected at all times. I've never had the no spark thing. I have a second BT Plus that maintains my NAPA 300 CCA garden tractor battery that drives my Power Panel and Sullivan starter.

Nah the only person here that would get away with the 'accidental discharge' excuse would be popo, you just gotta look right.

It was 81 F yesterday and will be the same today, I'm tied up gardening, getting my exercise running the Troy Bilt tiller. Dr.'s appointment today, what a waste of a day except that she's very beautiful. I'm still watching for a Saito 1.30T
Still waiting for a stretch of no rain so that I can start digging out the water line to the barn. Right now its soft mud, which is hell on the backhoe. Someday I need to order the turboheader for the 56.

I need to lay some black plastic tubing and install some in ground sprinkler heads this weekend myself. I hope the rain doesn't hit too early on Saturday. I run the inlet side to a water hydrant and hook a hose to it to deliver the water. I have some with quick disconnects already in the ground this system is the beta version of my poor man's in ground watering system.

Saito lovers some advise please. I just got a Saito 100 that was described as new in box. http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/ite...itemId=1103256 However, upon inspection the bearings are stuck and the intake pushrod is seized. Don't know what else I would find once I open it up further. Should I attempt a repair or fight for a refund?

I had a NIB that seized up from sitting, never ran, never was moved so the assembly lube gummed up over time. You can easily see if the engine was ran at some time, first look for marks on the engine mounts, and second, pull a rocker cover, preferably the exhaust. If you see any signs of varnish, or carbon, dispute it. It should be pristine inside. If it is, squirt glow fuel into the crank, and down the pushrod tubes, and let it set for a while, then squirt in a little more until it starts to free up. Most likely it just needs a good cleaning of old lube and it will be fine. If it won't be used for a while, drain out as much fuel as you can and squirt after run oil into it.
I strain the standard 89 octane petroil mix through a coffee filter, lots easier to run than a saito 300 glow version, and a lot tamer,i miss that.
ps it's strange that you ring a doctor and the desk person gives you a precise time to be there, not one minute before or after tho you always turn up early hoping that will push things along a bit.If doctors are so precise why do they make you wait for hours? while you sit in a packed waiting room reading magazines with titles like 'new idea'..if they'd had one they would change the magazine title after 25yrs but you get up to date with what brad and ang as well as nicole are doing,it's a subtle form of anesthesia but specialists offices are worse i reckon, when you finally get to see one.The shagpile carpet is so deep you can't see the highly polished tops of your johnny reb boots and you still have to wait hours but this time you are reading yachting magazines or something on interior design, what about the odd saito manual lying around or at least a good motorcycle magazine?? instead of gazing at the marbled walls and a water fountain..

Pete, I no longer have a 1.30, I am sorry I sold it, as I mentioned, I keep watching for another.
I did good yesterday, I rode the bike to the Dr., 37 miles each way, it was a coolish 62 degrees but a great ride.

Barry i know they say a 125 is slow to run in and i've found the 82 to be similar they really start to get up and go after you fly them for a few hours,or maybe you just get better on that engine tuning it in flight.Looking forward to the pic...hope your deaf as well after the airshow you lucky bugger.
Dave i too need some fatherly advice re my edge540v3 fitted with my only gas engine.Next door neighbour is a vet and has a large array of animals and birds which are all very tame.Everytime i lift the shed roller door this pidgeon flies in and lands on the left wing right beside the cockpit,he'll peck you and won't move unless helped. He likes poopin in the same spot do you think he hates the gas smell?..it's an fg57,should i try one of blw's bottle rockets or settle for the 12ga shotgun?

My .82a was a sweet engine from the first little bump of the starter. Very smooth and lots of RPM. Very little vibration and smooth acceleration on the first tank. This is going to be one fine Saito engine. I really got lucky on the parts fit when I bought this one. It reminds me of my well broken in FA-56. But, I love that FA-72 too. It has that nice deep sound at full throttle.
I spent a year in S. Korea worried about those crazy guys up north. We flew with night vision goggles that amped light 3600 times and when you looked north it was pure jet black at night. Not a light bulb for a hundred miles. Those guys are apt to do anything. You're living a bit too close to them, imo. Heck, maybe we're too close way up here. Not getting political on you, just venting some late night worries about your side of the ball.
