What am I ? The local punching bag ! Im not feeling the love .
Ah don't be too hard on jim popo.It was funny, and things could be a lot worse for you if it was'nt for the fact that the worlds attention is now focused on a new reality tv show being filmed in the whitehouse.Your not related by marriage or blood to the main actor,a guy by the name of anthony scaramucchi are you? otherwise known as 'the mooch' or 'gucci scaramucchi'...straight out of 'the goodfella's' movie.Scary eh?
If nobody else says how beautiful saito 182 flat twin carbies look i'm going to post another ducati pit girl to cheer you so and so's up

You can't see the carb openings on the 182 set up either. That would be an interesting challenge to make a twin trumpet set up for what engine is that? plus you don't count,i already know you like the twin carbies and nobody else has commented so here's a few ducati pit girls, with the utmost respect

Saito FA 120 Carburetor
I have a Saito FA 120 that wouldn't stay running for more than a few seconds. I sent it to Horizon to see if they could get it going. They couldn't, and said the problem was with the carburetor. (They adjusted the vale clearance and changed bearings)
So I am hoping that someone knows where I could find a replacement carb or perhaps new parts since there is no crash damage to the carb body . I have searched the web including e bay, and so far no joy.
Thanks

It depends on which 1.20 you have if it's a 1.20S or a Dual Plug 1.20 this carb will fit. If earlier I don't know. Can you show a picture, Thanks.

Ok i understand what you mean now english english and american english..i meant you can't see the throttle barrel rotate when you look down the inlet tract/s on either my 182 twin or 200r3 radial, maybe the fg57 too.
Next time you go past a bottle shop pick up a can of true blue aussie victoria bitter,if 'baz' had been drinking one he'd have had time to shotgun it and not get run over by victa the lawnmower.
ps nobody pipes up and says how good 182 carby inlets look like there's some more ducati pit girls coming..i reckon sooner or later some triumph guy is going to buckle and say he likes them, the carbys that is.

Saito FA 120 Big Jug
I have one of these and tuning instructions. If you need them. They are a little different than other Saito carbs.
Sir, you have the early affectionately called Fat Cylinder 120, no carb for that one. That carb should be fixable[/QUOTE

Thanks for the replies, and I need all the help I can get.
Hobbsy
Can you tell me how to fix it?
spaceworm,
I sure could use tuning instructions and any other advice you could give me. I hate giving up on anything.

Yes, more if you need them.
what did horizon say was broken? Is my first question. There just isn't alot to break on those carbs. There as simple as you can get.
i also have one and i can see were it might get confusing but.

Morning everyone, lets steer the conversation back to something at least loosely related to RC and the subject of Saito engines.
I deleted anything crude, inappropriate, innuendo and replies and snarky comments to the same.
Please consider this your friendly warning.
Cap. I'm curious as to the thread size on the intake pipe for 120, if its the same as the 150 you could get the 120s intake pipe and carb. Your carb has the bolt holes straight for and aft, the 120s and 150 carbs have the bolts holes rotated about 45 degrees clockwise. So it would require both the120s carb and pipe. I've never owned that particular 120.
Thank you very much.
Thanks.

He didn’t say what the problem with the carb was; he just said it was in the carb.
Here is what the bulk of the letter that I received said:
“Replaced bearings, and reset valves back to factory specs. Waiting to test run engine on the bench.”
The nest paragraph said:
“There was nothing more I could do with the engine; unfortunately the issue is in the carburetor.”
So he doesn’t say what was wrong. I assume he tried to start it but he just implies that he did.

ok it looks like the air bleed is shut. I would start by looking in the air bleed. The srew should only be half way in the hole.
Then I would turn the high speed out two and 1/2 turns and see if it will start.
I just can't believe that that carb is broken there just isn't anything to break. The next thing is i wish I could look at it. But that would be up to you.
Or can anyone tell us if a newer carb would work on that engine.

Another thing I think I see is some sort of sealing compound around the brass ? that's held by the bar and two screws. I avoid sealing compounds like the plague. Quite often they cause what you trying to cure.
Well the intake for the 150 is quite A bit larger but the carb is the same size. So if adjusting the carb doesn't work then you could get a 150 carb and have the intake redrilled to except the 150 card.
