I don't know that question, but the 1.30-T has the same cams as my 1.00-T, I don't think there are higher lift cams than they are

Lars good to hear from you again i like the 'strong like a bear' reference to the fa220 zues.I run one on nitro.

Jim the cam you need is in a saito 182 flat twin, you'll get that when you buy that engine, lots more performance without putting a spanner anywhere near the 130t.Maybe sr would give you some power to weight and physical comparisons.

ps electrical heat shrink tubing is good for sealing the ends of pushrod covers

I have been trying to trade Jim out of the 1.30-t for a 1.00-t, it might still happen.

Not counting the various port side & rear cams for twins which have similar lobe profiles as the opposite cylinders albeit with differing LSA & rotational direction in the case of the inline twins, there are only 4 different Saito cam profiles for "single cam" (per cylinder) engines.

SAI30S35; FA-30 through FA-40
SAI5035; FA-50 through FA-56
SAI6535A; FA-62 through FA-125
SAI120S35; FA-120S through FA-220

a suped up Saito should be in a sport racer or a war bird, JMO

I still would like to see a couple photos of that 100

With a big whopping prop and half throttle or less, that should give nice scale like speed and sound just like the 100 on my 1/5th Cub.

Here is the only shot of it I currently have, since this I have removed the Velocity Stacks and reinstalled the choke. The V-stacks were not going to accomplish anything since the air has to almost immediately make a 90 degree turn.

sometimes you build for stump pulling and not for speed. Now my 180 HC will be put in my GeeBee and we will see how fast i can get er to go. 180HC number 3 would look good in a war bird it could find a 120 size bearcat.

Depending on how it is propped, the high compression engine can develop high speed or high thrust numbers for impressive vertical performance. It would also be great for a high drag airframe like a Curtis Jenny or the like. The outstanding pulling power and fuel economy of transportation related diesel engines is in large part due to the extremely high compression ratios.

I have the 11:1 FG-57/FA-180 hybrid version in my Rascal 110 and I am considering swapping out the 18x8 for a 20x6 prop for slower landing approach speed and even better vertical.

Boosting compression is the most versatile performance boost as it increases torque across the power band. You don't have to give up low end torque for a high RPM HP boost.

It's always good to have a supply of different diameters and sometimes different colors for all kinds of things on airplanes. There's the cheap stuff, so try and get the soft stuff that has a satin look, not shiny like plastic.

I also use it on control rod dowels to cover thread with CA, etc. Looks clean and provides support. You can cover wire for landing gear assemblies with it. It is also good when you cut fully threaded push rods like 4-40 size. Put it on to cover all the threaded rod between each clevis. Looks neat, stays clean from oil, etc.

I want to put it in my (crashed/ARF) SIGs 4 Star 60 that I am bashing into a 30s area open cockpit racer, the engine wall has been beefed up a bit, as well as the front half of the fuselage from the strut mounting forward, I didn't want to move the cockpit so far back, but there is a frame support inside the fuse so I had to leave it stock or move it to where I did, I moved it LOL, it will look old

Barry your on to something there.I'm picturing good quality electrical shrink wrap in hologram patterns, that should take blinging up your saito to a new level.

Jim please don't use that pilot figure (he looks a bit light in the loafers) after you took all that care to bash the cockpit backwards,it looks neat. Here's a pic i suggest of what a pilot should look like when he's flying a mean sounding saito,on castor and nitro,or i can pm you a personal portrait. If it was me i'd stick with the dog.

Funny idea, here comes my Saito collection. There is 1 engine of each size
FA 40a
FA-50
FA-56
FA-62
FA-82 GK
FA-100
FA-100TI
FA-170
FA-220 with CDI
And the FA-80T lacks many parts

Can anyone say how to post pictures here.
It's done that does not work (or I understand)

Click, Go Advanced, then click Manage attachments, then select where you want to get the pictures, then click upload pictures, that should do it.

Noise from the valves, they are certainly many of who know about this.
I felt at Saito 100 and noticed that they were a noise from the valves.
So I took out the valves out of the engine, which was hard to open
They only have to clean valves and valve holes from solid-burned oil.
Now the valves open smoothly and fine and the camshaft is less loaded.
and what's the noise, it's a hard click, click
Lars
