Jim no.You need a nicely tuned lsn no matter what exhaust you are running and we rely on exhaust pressure for a constant fuel supply, which can vary if you change from a standard saito muffler to a straight pipe with the pressure outlet right at the tip.I got a little less exhaust pressure with a long straight pipe so you just peak the max rpm again and then re tune the idle and transition, mine ended up with a slightly richer lsn.

I had a neighbor here who had a "Wild Turkey" Boss Hoss, and it had 313,000 miles on it. Any time he was off work he and his wife were gone. His house appears to be empty as of yesterday.
When the weather breaks my son and grandson are coming in from Utah and were going to ride to the very scenic Great Smokey Mountains.
I have the tail feathers finished and their linkages connected on the green LT 40, I found a couple of extra JR 531's to run em. If we get a 50 degree day I'll run the re-built 11.30 and break kn the new 56
The 56 has a G on the right lug, nobody can relate those initials to anything useful, I guess they mean something to somebody.

Jim,are you a lawyer? just asking,i know a guy who's a statistical analyst because he did'nt have enough personality to be an accountant.
Here's the fuel tank of an early seventies kawasaki z900 propped up in the spraybooth and now finished to the owners specs. It's a kodak moment from way back and a tribute to his buddy who is no longer here.
ps a guy asks his wife what she would like for christmas.A divorce she replies.Gee i was'nt planning on spending that much he says.

Pete, it's about 2,200 miles, he's has ridden here before and so has my brother in Missouri, about 1,000 miles. Dave's plan is to fly to Pittsburgh, Pa. where his mother lives and then rent bikes and ride here for our Shenandoah trip. My brother rode to San Diego, California and then rode to here covering about 8,000 miles by the time he got back to Missouri. We ain't afraid to ride.
I have two .56's now, one with an E and the new one with the G. They're identical in every way.

The only downside to the Z-1 (900cc) was the weight. That was a heavy bike. That's a fine looking tank.

There's a colin seeley of english fame, not your guy tho.Thank God harris/bimota and others came along to make decent frames for overpowered 1970/80's japanese bikes if you wanted power plus handling. No one i knew could afford it back then even if we had thought about it.It was a heady mix of testosterone fuelled teenagers, and two stroke fumes from blindingly fast evil handling kawasaki two stroke triples.
Thanks barry the owner picked it up this morning and his wife is very happy, can't beat that.Your right the z900 was heavy and matched over the quarter mile by my 1972 candy blue mach 4 750 triple, which made nearly the same horsepower but was lighter and harder to get off the line quickly.
Dave is your camera ok? my phone camera seems to be playing up,just look how this ducati snuck in to view and photo bombed me,it's not even in focus. All i was trying to post was a pic of my h9 taylorcraft powered by the fa182 flat twin

Pete, I hate my cell phone, I would not have one if the Mrs. didn't insist and pay for it. I forget it and leave it at home as much as possible.
The new camera is doing fine.

ok getting ready to build a 150 sorry to rattle your brain again but you said something about the 150 to bump up the compression. Piston or mill? And what piston?

I'd double post that question capt and see if you can get a quick answer.Reason is sr is a muzzle loading rifle man and muzzle loaders don't tolerate fools well these days so don't expect him to live forever

LOL bowling balls LOL what a hoot LOL
my X boss made a canon for shooting beer cans filled with cement, it looked like a real canon, he live on a lake and on the 4th of July he would fire the cans out into the lake.. yeeaa, some people in Vermont can be crazy, my school hood friend (later in life) had a small canon (about a 30 Cal) and as he would say it was not loud enough, well he knew some one that worked with TNT, and my friend would get firing caps and 1/8 sticks, I never saw them go off but he told me they were loud "as he smiled", he doesn't live up on the mountain any more, a true story
BTW, I like Saito engines , and I found a 100 single NIB for a nice price, I would like to buy it but I can not make up my mind

Well that was scary...when i first saw the picture of the divots i thought that was the grouping down range.Very interesting reading i'd never heard of a bowling ball gun,it looks fun and you always get good people around those activities.I've now found the site on my phone and will be showing it to a mate who is a keen lawns bowler and ex shooting buddy.See if he can get some sort of a wildcard tournament going
Jim the saito 100 lists here in aus for 489 bucks and the 100ti is 1144.99
ps the orange painted moose out at 500yds sounds like something you would aim a bowling ball at.

I think the original site had more about the whistling noise the bowling balls make. I think it has been pared down some after all these years. Pete, you're right about the kind of good people who enjoy things like that. A buddy at the flying field told us a story once of experimenting with black powder stuff when he was a teenager. One of his buddies had made a 'good one', and they went inside a house that was almost finished being built. He said there was a big flash and then everyones lips were moving but he couldn't hear them. lol He's lucky he can hear anything after that. He said all the windows were blown out and large pieces of wall board, etc were thrown all over the place. Then, they did what all teenagers do, they ran.

I hope you helped by emptying the beer cans for him!
but the Vodka was good, he owned a pluming outfit, and he would leave the shop at 1 or 2 o'clock so he could be drunk by 5 or 6, I used to go to his house at times after I left the shop at 5 and help him at his home

Okc don't trust any drink with lite on the label the way barry described the teenagers house 'party' you'd need a stiffer drink than that straight after.Once on a shooting trip we were filling in time using black powder charges to blow bull ant nests out of this rock hard red dirt ground. We were so excited i never felt the wind swing round on the 100yd walk back to the shooting wagon unrolling the cable drum so i could touch the wires to the battery. After the boom the wind pushed clouds of fine red dust over us,could'nt see your arm in front of your face. Then the pitter patter pitter patter of gravel sized lumps of red dirt mixed with bull ants, they were'nt happy.
