Romulo...Awesome awesome flight report. Congrats on two successful flights. I can't wait for the weather to break here, so I can get mine back in the air. I only flew it twice last seasons, with both landings resulting on gear damage. Easily fixed each time, but haven't flown since I got my Extra 330L 25% Gasser up in the air. I have way too many planes. :-)

I am having a heck of a time balancing my plane at 10.5". I have the plane with the wheels down and not inverted. Sometimes its tail heavy and sometimes it is nose heavy. I am very careful to put the balancing points at the same location each time. I never had this problem before and it is getting very flustrating. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hey Everyone,

I made the plunge and bought the Falcon .25, I want to do nitro so what's the best engine? OS 25fx OS 35ax, GMS .32, Supretiger .34, ThunderTiger .36.

Any suggestions will be welcomed.

I bought the Falcon 25 I will be using a Jett BSE .30 when I get around to assembly.

If you can find a new or low time OS .32SX it is a great motor!

I have the .32SX on a Kange F3D-30 and it hauls butt.

mark the CG on the top of the wing turn the plane upside down and then balance.
With more weight below the balance points the plane won't fall off as quickly allowing you to get a good read.

Well, I think the question is answered, but speaking of a "heck of a time", I'm having a heck of a time trying to find one of these retract ready!
When the are in stock, (3 or so at a time) they are gone before you order them, but the website doesn't update til they have sooooo many orders it's ridiculous! then you have to wait for a week or two of "item has shipped" only to find that it hasn't, and "oh by the way- here's your money back"...... I wish I could just be upset and not get one, but after reading 145 pages, and researching all the goodies and mods for this plane, I MUST HAVE ONE! ARGH!!!!

OK, sorry- I'm done.....[sm=cry_smile.gif]

Hi guys,

Again to report some more about bob50.

When i am at almost full throtle there are no problem in geting the plane on a line without any up or down atitude, but with less throtle it start pending with nose up !!!!! So, sometimes when landind when we cut the throtle if we don't come with some speed is a very trouble landing !!!

There are any idea ??

My CG is 265mm and i already put 2mm of down thrust in engine !!

Maybe you should put upthrust instead, as the engine is mounted at the back, which reverses everything. It is not the same principle as a front mounted engine. On my bobcat, I didn't need to put any up or downthrust for it to fly straight.

I had similar conition and solved the down thrust at higher throttle by shimming the engine. Recollection is that shimming up/down thrust was backwards from a tractor configuration.

Another way to check if the up or down thrust needs to be fixed: if you are flying with up elevator trim for straight and level flight, it will affect the plane's attitude when you fly at a slower speed as the elevators begin to work at slower speeds, lifting the nose of the plane.

SinCityJets...I posted your link for the Bobcat/Falcon .25 turbine video in the other RC ???? website where we actually discuss the Bobcat .25 electric/nitro, well mostly electric. I thought the guys would like to see what Kolibiri is up to.

Are you offering any discount or financing options? :-) LOL

What is the right way to install the pusher prop on the engine? I have an APC 11x7 I want to install. Do the numbering 11x7 face the the nose of the plane or does the numbering face the rear?

Thanks

If it is a pusher prop 11x7p the writing should be toward the motor, meaning toward the front of the airplane.

to the rear.....for APC

CAUTION: it depends on the brand of prop you use !!!

on wood props from topflite the writing faces forward.
on APC props the cast in numbers face to the rear ( it mounts just like an APC tractor prop on regular airplane)

The prop is an APC 11x7p with cast in numbering so which way is the numbering facing ( towards the front facing the engine or nose, or is the numbering facing away from the engine and twowards the elevator)? just looking for clarification

Also, does it mater that i balance the plane inverted?

thanks

the numbers would be facing the eleevator,.

APC pusher props mount tho your motor in the same way a tractor prop

I have an OS AX .55 with 11x7p and the writing is toward the nose and the engine. It's an APC. I've flown my Bobcat twice.

it is on backwards! it will make thrust but not as much as it should.

in this case you have enough power to make the plane fly.

look at the hub of the prop lettering like C-2 should be towards the prop nut - elevator
look at the hub of the prop lettering like 11x7P should be towards the prop nut - elevator

you will be astounded by the proformance gain.

I once had one on bassackwards and it was lathargic.

Thanks for the feedback, I will make that happen. Also how about balancing the plane, I did mine inverted any issues with that?

no just makes the task of balance easyer nose or tail will drop but not as fast.

Crazy4Flight...I will take your word that you are correct and change the direction of my prop. It will be scary to see any performance gain as with the prop backwards I believe my Bobcat was pushing 100+ mph.

Crazy4Flight...I checked my prop direction last night. If I face the 11x7p towards the prop nut it will be spinning backwards. The trailing edge of the prop would cutting into the wind if I put 11x7p towards the nut.

Again my prop is an APC pusher prop. I'm going to leave my prop the way it is with the 11x7p facing towards the plane/engine, because the leading edge of the prop is cutting the wind.

I have six different APC pusher props. Most have the size towards the nut but the 11 x 7p has the size towards the engine.

I just got two new APC 11X7P for mine and the lettering will be toward the elevator. Just thought I would chime in here.

well looks like APC goes both ways, depends on the prop.

user must take care to install...watch the curve and camber of the prop...
A pusher prop wil makeabout 60% the thrust if installed bassackwards.
been there done that, and the bobcat flew just barely![sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

ok here are my props that were in the hangar. APC 10x6p 10x7p 10x8p
first pic F these are facing towards the nose
2nd pic R these are facing towards the tail.

Crazy4Flight...Please accept my apology. I have a 10x7p on my Bobcat with the C-2 towards the elevator and the writing 10x7p towards the motor. My 11x7p props will be as you stated C-2 and writing 11x7p towards elevator.

To all, Crazy4Flight was correct. My bad.
