Hey Michael,

I refused to put Bush as a pilot on my A10.... you see I am a Chilean who lives in California as a Democrat! I have to visit you guys one of these days!

Michael I should have a conference call with you and Gonzalo to hear more about your first flights with the A10!

I am planning to order the pilot from http://www.maffscav.de/ as Matthias have done most of my pilots in the past with customize uniforms!

I can't wait to hear more about your A10s back to work on mine!

My A-10 arrived with the up-locking cylinders but they are not spring type. Actually, they are like a normal cylinder with two outlets instead of one. This means that I have to connect them to the open and close side of the nose gear door cylinder ?

This was the first day of work on my A-10.

All extensions are done and UAT's, fuel solenoids/pumps and air valve are installed. I wouldn't be surprised that tomorrow all the servos are installed since before I left, there were already three of them ready.

The debate about the Pisco it's quite simple! Pisco=Peru! is just simple math!

Gonzalo38, my lock systems has the 2 outlets too as you described and the spring which it is inside. You should connect the lock as you do with your doors air system. When I simulate a loss of pressure then you see the spring active, quite nice and secure.

I am dying to see how your A10’s goes with the Cheetahs? Are you guys planning to modify the exhausts.... as they are made more for a P80? It might be OK but check if the diam of the exhaust are OK.

So far I am very incline to get 2 new JetCat P-140rx for mine perhaps Cheetahs or Merlins 140 are a nice option too.

Gonzalom, my A-10 with the Cheetahs is all ready to go, heading to the New England Jet Rally next weekend.. using the exhaust pipes as supplied by SM. will post some pictures later.

Hi guys, ok this Friday I did the maiden of my A-10, did a couple of flights and today a few more. Wow this jet is amazing, very impressive in the air and it fly's very well.
I installed 2 cheetah's for power, this is more than enough, regular flight needed only half power and I only went full power on big verticals.
CG I went with 145mm, at this point it flew very stable and it was a no issue on stalls on specially on landing, it was rock solid.
IN general a great jet, I just love it and I am sure I will have some great fun with this one.

Here is a video, it is a preliminary and the aspect is all wrong but it gives the idea on todays flight, later I will post a better one.

On thing to keep in mind. The elevators need to be slightly up to level flight and the recomended travel on the ailerons y too much and the A-10 is too sensitive on this value, just put a little less.

Hi Michael,

Outstanding! a big CONGRATULATIONS to you! I spoke early Friday with my tocayo Gonzalo and he told that you guys where ready to maiden on that day.
When you have the time please share with us your setting regarding ATV's expos etc including how much up or down elevator for the flaps on landing.

Love the video! and what a superb landing you did! Did you used the provided exhausts on the A10 for the Cheetahs? Using most of the flight 1/2 power I wonder for how long thoese tanks will go.

Thanks guys, the jet is a lot of fun to fly.

Gonzalo, I used the standard pipe, no problems so far.

Regarding some settings:
CG 145, I heard that 150 was a bit tail heavy so I went a bit forward. The jet flew very nice like this and I intend to leave it here. It is very stable and confortable on landing.
On throws I went with SM recomendations, but too much for my taste on ailerons so I lowered that a bit.
For expos I used 35% more or less, this depends a lot on personal preference. Remember on Futaba radios this is -35%
For flaps I went as much as what the servo with a 2" arm will give me. I found that when aplying flaps te jet floats very nice with no strange things.
After a 6 minute flight I still have about 1/3 of fuel in the tanks. I will probably go for 7 minutes in the future... for now 6 minutes leaves me with enough fuel to have a few go arounds until I get used to the A-10.

With the 2 cheetahs power managment is important, the jet as a lot of extra power with this 2 turbines so if you go this way be sure not to go on full throttle all the time...

Next step is flying with all bombs on...

Alex48, how many lead have you in the nose with the two merlin 140 ?, i'm very interresting by this A10 skymaster and probably with two jetcat P100 and without pylon and ordonance , do you think it possible to dry weight 22 kg in this setting ?

I think Al had 0.5lbs of lead in the nose.

Also, I would say you could make 22kg with ought the pylons and ordnance (they are surprisingly heavy)

Did you run the tailpipes supplied in the kit? Did you test for the power off climbing scenario?? Just wondered if you had changing pitch trims and were seeing the same issues?

I'm 95% sure I'm about to attack mine and get it going. I just don't want to go through the effort and find it has odd flying tendencies (especially when the Mibo is supposed to be an amazing flyer).

I would be interested to hear just what the difference is between the SM and A-10 flying wise. They're so similar in size and weight that I would hope they're almost the same?????
