Sure will post pics of the "Lanyu" when I get home. Very nice props with a scale-like flair.They pull very well. Make a very stout load for the Saito 150 . The fellow usually shows up at the Toledo show in the spring. I plan to buy a pile of them this year, which means he probably won't show!

ps the peak figure for the fa115 looks low
That servo wire on the telegraph key has a plug for the side tone oscillator I sometimes use to monitor what is going out.
Been doing valve only ham radio since 1961 when I first got into ham radio. I am always repairing or restoring ham gear. Sometimes the transmitters are rather large ranging from old WWII military radio to commercial broadcast transmitters . A couple years back I shipped a BC-610 , WWII transmitter to a museum in Spain. Tipped the air freight scales at 770 pounds all crated . When conditions are good talking to your neck of the woods is not uncommon. The last time it was as station in Tasmania.

Some of you may find this interesting, the bore and stroke for the 120 R-3 triple and for FA 40a are not the same as, one would think. It would be interesting to know the reason.
Saito FA 40a
Bore===22mm
Stroke=17.4mm
Saito 120 R-3
Bore===22.4mm
Stroke=16.2
The Saito 100-T and the 50 single have the same bore and stroke
Bore===23.4mm
Stroke=19.0mm

It is jim,i see you are well on the way to recovery pard,watch the vid a few more times and two stroke heli's will just be a distant memory...fore ya know it you'll have an fa115/125 in the mustang.Makes the after flying beers taste heaps better

I tell you what, because it has the 125 Jug I am thinking the 115 is going to be too tight in my VQ P-40, if so I have no problem putting it in the Mustang,
as for the engine's RPM in the video, it has a wood prop, I'm betting it's pulling a lot of air, I know on my Magnum 180 FR (thank god it's gone) the Zoar 17X8 pulled 800 RPM less than the APC 17X8, and the Zoar 17X6 pulled 200 less than the APC, the APC pulled 8850 (peaked),, those Zoars sure do pull a lot of air,
hey Pete you know what would be just coolest, that is if Saito made a 110 or 120 Flat 4 Cylinder, that would be the cats tail right there, I would have to buy one !

Jim i wish saito would make a gas 200cc like this...look up 'maiden flight p51 galloping ghost' on you tube,make sure you watch the whole vid.I'd buy that engine in a heartbeat.
Mike revenge is a dish best eaten cold i'd wait till dave finishes his pawnee and borrow it.You could load the hopper with some dried and ground up seagull poo,should look like topdressing super phosphate when it rains down on your friends.

Honda 250cc six called the rc 166 racing engine from 1966,made 65hp when period british 650 twins made 40hp,and they were quick bikes in their day.Killed the competition and revved to 20,000 rpm way back then,you can hear one running on you tube.Jim my point is that our model multi cylinder engines only sound scale at idle,re the os300il i've heard one at the strip in a gypsy moth,it barely flew it.You need big cylinders and a longer stroke to sound good at higher rpm which is why i like how the kolm engines sound in flight at higher rpm,makes your hair stand on end.Saito making something like that is on my bucket list.
Dave would sawn off .22 brass do the job? on those inlet stacks.We've just had our first sniff of summer here after a long wet winter.

That little Honda 250/6 was making some HP at that but the numbers alone don't always win races against the bigger bikes on the road course.
I had the "joy" of rebuilding a couple of the Honda 1000cc 6 cylinder heads. Little 15 or 16mm valves, 24 of them. All were of course 3 angle grinds on the seats! Just about the smallest valves that the old Souix valve face grinder could handle. Looked like a three row corn picker going down the road. But it was fast for it's day!
The Benelli "Sei" was an unabashed copy of the Honda. Our local BSA/Benelli dealer, Mr Earl Buck had one of the Benelli Sei. At 350 pounds, he made it look small.
Sure wish I could find a Benelli Sei today.
Earl Buck's shop was about 2 miles from here. He really tore up the 74 inch class AMA hill climb with his 45 inch BSA!

Like we said earlier, the bore to stroke and rod length drive these decisions- That rod is quite a bit of work in the making. Still, at $85 a copy, I may be tempted to make my own if I happened to need one. One of those parts that make for a fun project.
The 120 radial should be a lot of fun on the right plane. Probably close to an .82 single, power-wise.Maybe you will CDI this one?
