I get it!
That stuff is great. As you say, the flavor not the hot.

About the only Saito vibes that really bothered me was the 180 in the 1/5 scale WACO. Other than that, I don't run factory fuel loaded with oil. 14% is it.

I have some hells kitchen hot sauces. Habanero and ghost pepper. They have some zing, but the flavors are great!

My fits all seasoning is "Rocket Radish" Horseradish that is spiked with oil of mustard.
The vapors are awesome.

Pete, my son will laugh when I tell him that name

acdii; hells kitchen hot sauces, I will have to try that some time, I only eat hot sauce for the flavor not the heat

Jesse; "Rocket Radish" I think I have had that once before, but I live in Vt and we are a bit deprived here at times LOL

hey guys, I am a bit wary here, should I use it or recycle it ??

I have some 15% Wildcat and it's about 50% full, and it's been setting here 10 years, and I have a few Saitos to brake in, if it was unopened I would just use it, but I'm wary of using it.

so how do you guys feel about a using a half filled bottle of fuel that has been setting 10 years ??

to add, the humidity in my garage can and does rise higher than it does out doors in the summer

Freeze it, if you see ice crystals, toss it, if not, go ahead and use it. It's probably closer to 0% nitro now.

Ghost pepper sauce, from the videolooks a little's too hot for me, but the others sound great, I find I don't like stuff much hotter than Franks an Tobacco sauce, but I have not bought Franks in years since I found Cholual's Green

I had a batch of 30 plus year old Fox Missile Mist, in the original cans, stored high and dry in my garage. Used them up, save for 1 can. It worked as good as the day it was made
Years ago I had 2 cases of Logghe 10% I left two of the (plastic) jugs sitting in a concrete floor over winter, the rest of the same batch were high and dry on a wood shelf. The stuff on the floor was noticeably degraded, the rest was fine.
Not like your engine will self nuke, try a slug on the ground.

first, the site is acting up again, see my post above, see "videolooks", well if I go to edit it the site shows me the word "it", <that I DID type in, and the 2 words "video" and "looks" are separated... what a crazy site !!

Since the fuel is hydroscopic, and water can cause all sorts of issues in an engine, freezing the fuel is the quickest way to spot water contamination. I have some old fuel that I check that way, other than not hitting peak power, it is still good enough to putt around with, but I always freeze a small amount in a glass jar first. Pretty interesting what it looks like once it has been in there for a few days.

guys !!
I have to apologies for my misspelling and editing, I am highly nearsided, I can see close up really well without my glasses, and I can see good to fly and drive with my glasses, so some times,, LOL make that many times, I have problems with sharpness and clarity on the computer. I also need new lenses now.
my eye doctor told me just a couple years ago that I most likely will never go blind, but I may come to the point whereby I will need new lenses yearly, and I feel I am at that point now in my life

Jim

Default Need a Saito 30s

Gary, disregard the PM I sent you. A 45 would be to much for my little vintage high wing.

Anyone have a good running 30S they would like to unload? Or even a 15-20 2 stroke?

Lonnie

Jim like they said above put your fuel in the freezer, but that does'nt fix your problem re removing the water so you can use the fuel.To do that you need to borrow your wife's stainless steel fine mesh veggie strainer, whip the bottle out of the freezer and pour thru the strainer in to another fuel bottle, your good to go even if it is a bit FAI fuel like.

ps make sure to buy the wife a big bunch of flowers

pps,you can thank me later

If the cap is on tight it will be fine and it only take about 5 minutes to find out.

No problem, I had to go back up to the storage shed to take a look at what is there. Did that last night. There is the better part of three engines. New bearings (not cheapo, generics) four new rings a couple of new cams/lifters,A new set of cases, rear cover and cam case, along with the original parts.

Should easily make two nice engines, Plenty of stuff left over. I already have a new style 40 and two 45 Specials, one of the new and several 50s Don't really need all that stuff, let alone the 45 basket cases.

Most of that, along with the 45 stuff is headed for the flea market Saturday.

The only 30 that I have left is my first , an open rocker 30. Not ready to let that one go yet. Low compression, thinking about making a ringed piston and fly that engine once again.

Come on down!

I had intended to the shed go on Sunday afternoon, but went last night instead. Got to have a better look this morning and, yes a lot of 45 stuff. The swap tomorrow is actually a vintage electronics expo but toyairplane motors are always welcome. (No "Moderators" )

Sunday , a ham radio swap . Taking a lot of radio stuff there as I cut way back on the shack size when we moved to the new, bigger house...go figure. I will be taking a lot of Saito stuff there too .
If anyone happens to be going to the Hazel Park ARC Swap in Madison Heights on Sunday......

Monday morning...order some YS

Lonnie, keep an eye on RC Groups classifieds, you can find some good engines there for good prices, some guy just sold a NIB Saito 100 for $170..
