cheers rcluke

do you have to pay the custom and handling charge when you get parts from rcmart, if so roughly how much

where would you find this TA-05IFS R in UK

are you saying that the dogbone and cups are plastic in standard car, can you confirm it
nope, no customs charges from rcmart

i havent got a clue about finding one in the UK, you would be better off getting it from asia.

I can't tell you about the drive cups, because i don't have standard ones on mine, they were changed when i got it
are you serious about no custom or handling charge, i ll defo have a look to it, i recently receive parts from tower hobbies and i got charged for it, how long does it take for rcmart to deliver

cheers
not a word of a lie, no customs charges.

i have had about 20 orders from them, a couple of them worth a few hundred quid and not a penny charged at customs.

the delivery time is usually about 5-10 working days, not bad really !

My Rear bridge suspension mount of IFS-R, 1 screw broke off and the thread of the screw is inside the part... Now that part is kept to the chassis with 1 other screw.

Then instruction 20 on the manual says must cut off a part of the turnbuckle...So troublesome. Tamiya should have pre-cut everything. I don't have the tools man....

Stargek. Very ex but that day Winnie not free to check pricing for me and BK was closed. Taroda quote abt $280. Winnie said after that, that will be cheaper. Abt $290 but don't quote me.

if you have just the screw thread in the hole you could try either drilling it out and fitting a slightly broader screw if the hole is slightly larger.

Tamiya do excellent kits but are not for beginners, you do need modelling experience and tools, and also read the build instructions thoughroughly before starting and make sure you fully understand the build proceedures.

The TA05IFS I have was the first R/C Car that I have built, but I have built bucket loads of kits from various manufacturers including Tamiya, Ships/Tanks/Aircraft... all that experience was called on to build the car, as was my multitude of various tools.

So as a summary, If you have no tools, no building experience then consider other options.

Racing went better this week. I had to drop out of the first heat. The sintered rotor on my Novak came apart about about half way through the heat. Was gaining on the leader and the car just started going slow. Luckily the hobby store had one. So, I put that in and ran in 2nd the next heat. Would have tied in laps but I couldn't finish the last one, bent a tie rod on the last corner. Down hill after that, the 3rd qualifier was more like a crash'em up derby than a race. I ended up 3rd after the dust settled. My ESC came unglued from the chassis in the last heat so I retired it half way. Compared to previous weeks it went pretty well and posted a personal best of 33 laps in a 5 min heat.

I was wondering if the TA-05 could handle 3s li-po and traxxas VXL brushless.

that is the second pinion and spur i have killed by using it outdoors.

i usually race indoors on polished wood and carpet, so there are no stones.

i think i could have avoided the damage on the spur and pinion if i had raised the suspension (because the car only had about 2mm ground clearance, and the spur sticks out of the bottom of the chassis)

the diffs are spot on, especially with the aluminium out-drives, i did smash up a UJ though [&:]
