Thanks for the reply Glowgeek, but I mean the screw n. 90 > 82-1- 7 of Carburetor Complete

The screw as shown performs as Lonnie describes.
It performs the duty of moving the barrel axially to control fuel metering. It also acts as a barrel stop at full closed and full open. As with any screw, the proper tightening affects the function.
On the older carb.
And that screw's functions have been replaced by the fixed screw, including, but not limited to the full open and full closed stops. That screw on the older version performs both functions as well, it simply adds an adjustable stop for idle speed. The idle function was pretty much done away with as most RCers do not, did not use it for setting idle.
The fixed replacement, just as I said, stops the barrel rotation at two fixed points, open and closed. Therefore a "barrel/throttle stop". It also performs the axial control of metering, just as the adjustable version does. The fixed screw however is more accurate in tracking the metering .

Jim even with the best will in the world you can't train a kangaroo to open the beer fridge and get you a beer, not to mention fetch the foam beer can holder
I for one am hoping jester gets time to fly the spittie with the fa80 in it, be interesting to see how that went.

If you all had a 46-55 size Phoenix Models Strega P51 what would you run in it to go fast?
Maybe I could shoe horn a FA125 into it? I don't have one but would willing to buy or trade.
Better would be a YS115WS. Don't suppose anyone has one of those laying around huh?

How about a Saito 180 HC with 30% nitro and 16-12 at 9800.

Lonnie, remember how fast this heavy Spitfire is with the heavy Saito 100TI ? anything over a 100 would make that .46 Mustang ballistic ! if you could find a Saito 115 it would fit better than the 125
this guy put a 28cc gasser in his Worlds Models P-40, crazy.
Jim
Interesting stage, trying to figure out the biggest saito single i can almost squeeze in to the cowl on it's side.
Turns out it was an fa115 seen here with a mas classic 15x8, lot's of horsepower. It was very quick with an apc 14x10 also. By the look of the dust all over it i'd been doing some low flying at the salt lakes, just kidding, i parked it behind the engine test bench too long.
I used to complain about having to paint harleys every day, that was before this guy turned up with a trashed fibreglass sidecar he wanted matched to his bike. It's no wonder spraypainters drink
It was, until i made it look very second hand in the lower pic it's done a lot of flying and been slap thru a large saltbush at full throttle as well as a large tree, got away with that both times.

Thank you Hobbsy, i have understood the function of that screw.
Another question:
How much synthetic oil should I put in the mixture for the Saito .82B ? I can't find Klotz 200 syntetic oil in Europe.
Thanks a lot

You should have included a before picture on the sidecar! Beautiful work on the restore job! I think if I was riding with that guy I would want a roll cage on the sidecar.

Interesting name too, Saito Cooling Header. I chose that one especially for Pete.
