George:
I hope you are still planning to put wing tanks on your Nano. If they work I can then shamelessly copy them.
Your XL looked really good with them on there.

RE: Boomerang Nano!!!
I made the canopies by forming a balsa plug and then heating sheet clear plastic and plunging the heated and quite pliable plastic over the plugs, as soon as it cools ( fast) you cut off the excess and presto, you are done

Toy aeroplanes do not need a pilot they need the canopy spraying over.
I wonder how many posts we will get about that.

At least spraying it over is not trying to make it look like something it is not i.e. ''A real aircraft'' or even a facsimile of a real aircraft, they are after all just toys, but to each their own.

Anyway some pics of the cockpit in my intro, difficult to get pics with the reflections, dont know if the nano is the same size of not, pilot was a two piece plastic job, I think came from SLEC or nexus, seat made from balsa scrap, MDC cut on my vinyl plotter.

@ Chuck. I checked the throws. Rudder full throw is 25mm each way, and aileron full throw is 9mm up and 7mm down; these figures are for ''normal'' flying. The amount of aileron correction at full rudder throw is +/- 2mm, ie about 25% of full ail throw on average.
Speaking of lots of flying, I hit the field this pm and dashed off 4 flights. A clubmate got the shots below. The Nano's lines must be growing on me as it looks pretty nice in the air

Gordon,
Thanks. Those values are a great place to start. I'll set them up on a switch to begin with. I'll also mix in a little up elevator and take it from there. My Nano is virtually complete, but I need better weather and access to a good field for the first flights. From there, I'm hopeful I can fly it on our closer (and shorter) grass field.
Nice pictures, by the way.

Chuck - if you are an AMA menber and hold your waiver and you want to make the (somewhat long) drive you are welcome to be a guest at our club and use its 400' paved runway for the maiden. We have a couple club members with Boomers as well - notably Bruce Hanson who agreed to do the maiden flight on mine for me.

I will second that!!! I had 3 of 4 screws back out (un-noticed) on my baby boomer giving it some un intentional vectored thrust, and a very interesting flight!!
