Well, there is only my A123 Racing cells left to be installed! I set her up with the help of a regulated 2S LiPo and "it's alive!" A little tidy-up to do and it should be good to go for taxi tests. Battery has to go much farther forward than I anticipated, but its all good.

I like to run a tad rich for the first few tanks so I should get a few more RPM's out of it. Pulls strong thats for sure!

Got Dennis Kirby working on some graphics for me. Goin' with a Pepsi theme.

Revy,

Beautiful plane. I am going to start my soon with a DLE like you. How was the balance. Would you put the rudder or elevator servo  in back if yo had to do it again?

Also, I heard the upper wing mount is prone to wear and failure. Did you modify this and what might have you done?

Thanks, ML<br type="_moz"/>

Hey Bros,

I'd like# 70 if possible. Ibought my first Ultimate in 1992 and it got shot down. I've got another complete kit that is unfinished. And Ijust purchased my third Ultimate that has an OS 91 two stroke in it.

I'm switching out the 2 stroke to put in my YS 120SF from 1992. Below isa photo as the engine change is in progress.

Where can Iget the aluminum LG? Someone have a link?

Thx!

I just bought a DLE 20 motor on sale, then I remembered I have a CG Ultimate kit that I won in a raffle many moons ago...I think we have a match! I would like to join the brotherhood. Is #71 available? If not, the next available number will do just fine.
Thanks, Les

Revy, Alfred

I am at the point where I'm finishing up the top wing and would like to have it mount through the top. Do you have some sketches of how that was done?  I have also laminated the plywood where the wing supports bolt on by adding birch wood (in the middle) and plywood to create a laminated section to spread the load accross longer section.

The wing change sketch would help as would the removable canopy deck.

Thank you in advance all

Eddie,

I still fly mine with the wire LG like on yours. The worse that happens if I have a rough landing, is the wire bends a little. I think you will love the plane with the YS 120. I have an OS 120 four stroke on it, and have gobs of power, so I think you will have even more vertical! Pretty plane with the classic Bluehawk scheme! Jon

Pete, I followed twn's example for the top wing mount mod...

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_90..._2/key_/tm.htm

The wire gear is OK if you plan on using a smaller prop. My 17x6 Xoar will need a bit more room (or less flex) when I come in harder than expected.

Eddie James:

Welcome to our Bortherhood, you are # 70 member as you request.

Sorry I almost forgot, look for fiberglass specialties on the web, they carry the cowling and aluminum landing gear as well.

TWN is the answer.

If you can note by the pictures, the original set up was done, then, there were any issue related with the wing incidence, I would suggest to go the same way, and at final, add the piece of wood, you can't go wrong with this set up.

ok gang, how do you set the incidence on your wings and horizontal stabilizer?

do you level the fuse? and how do you level it?

I know the top and bottom wings are set at 0 and the horizontal stab at +1.25

any pics or directions would be greatly appreciated

First, I would bolt the wings on to the fuselage and install an incidence meter on the lower wing. Using the incidence meter, shim the fuse until it is level (0 degrees). It doesn't matter what the fuse sits on, as long as it is secured. With the lower wing at zero degrees, check the incidence (angle) of the horizontal stab and the top wing with the incidence meter. The best resolution I can get with my Robart incidence meter is ~1/2 degree, but that seems to do the job for me. I can take a couple of pictures later if you want.

Unfortunately the shots aren't great, but I think you will get the idea. I included a shot of the Robart meter and the lower and upper wings with the meter installed. The plane is a BUSA Phaeton II bipe, but the technique is very similar for any plane.
