I have a new Strega, in the box. Also have a couple of Saito 115. I really want a YS 115 for that plane. In this case I prefer to be a bit closer to overpower than the Saito can provide

Looking for a trade Of course I will toss in some cash.

Hmm I have a YS 110 FZ. How does that compare? I really should get it out and run it to make sure I got it all cleaned and reassembled properly. I also have a smaller YS, I think a 65 or such. That stack of Saito boxes has me drooling. LOL

all my Saito’s are used. With a couple that had been bench run only.

I wonder how my H9 Funtana 90 would fly with the YS 110 on it. It's a 3D plane that had a Hacker electric on it, but think I may put glow on it.

By my having mostly used engines I don't get to have all those nice boxes. But that's fine too.

I have a Saito 180 white box (single cylinder), it's pretty nice, meaning it's not ripped. I could use an OS box for my OS 70sz Heli engine, I will make a trade.

BTW, you got to love those marking letters "SZ",,, what would it mean "Super Zinger" or "Super Zen" ??

Jim

The only new engine among those boxes is a Saito 82. The other, non Saito boxes also have engines and some of the Saito boxes may have a couple engines.

FYI, many people sell very roughly used engines and include the pretty boxes

Missing original box with a used engine was always a pet peeve of a buddy of mine who does R/C Estate sales.

Yep,
A rough engine is no problem . I do appreciate getting the cardboard coffins
You may note if you look closely that there are plenty of non factory boxes.
Quite a few black/gold boxes blue/white boxes etc rat-holed around the shop too.

I had a yellow Funtana 90 with a YS 110 for quite a while. Nice combo, not really "over powered" but suited my lazy flying style.
All I have left is a pic of the bottom with a modified muffler

Dave, care package received. Lots of usable parts, thanks. I guess my fa45 mkii is one of the earlier releases where the 50 cam wont fit. I'll have to grind some material from the roof of the cam gear housing. No big deal, that 50 cam is going in there one way or another!

I probably have the housing you need. Some time back, I offered you a 45 basket case with most of two engines. At the time, you turned it down. Still here if you want it.

You may also consider bumping the compression up a bit to compliment the cam swap.

Yes, I remember your offer, very generous. At the time I was looking for a 45 Special, now I know how to make one from a 45. Yes, a compression increase with increase in cam duration is good practice, something I've done many times street rodding to keep from losing effective compression.

Sending PM

Yesterday they were 46.95, mine has been on the way since the 10th, it's running a little slow.
I was buying from my lhs, if i could get parts at that price here in aussie i could build new one's for less than you pay here for a boxed one, thanks.

A 100 is $339.99 with free shipping here, what would one cost there? Thanks

PS, several of my engines are in Horizon parts boxes, they use the same box no matter what you buy. I just lay them in there on a blue NAPA mechanics paper towel. I never seal them. I also put the "constructions" in there if I have them.

Whenever possible I store my engines on airplanes. I guess I'm not much of a engine collector per se, at least not with them sitting in boxes on shelves. They have feelings too you know?! They're happiest flying by with the wind blowing through their hair.

I can only remember ever buying two new Saito 56’s back in the 90’s for a DC-3 I was going to build and they wound up in a Fazer and the something Extra witch are probably the oldest planes I have ever had. So when I finally put them in a Duel Ace they are well broke in and vary reliable. I love when I get to the field and fly that plane I fire and go and other pilot’s give me that look like aren’t you going to tune and balance those engine’s before you take off.
I found that with multiple engine’s that is a huge mistake that a lot of people make they try to match the engine’s and that is in possible. I tune to best run and fly and those 56’s run awesome.
But anyway all the used Saito’s I have all run great and I am just lucky enough to be able to perches such great engine’s

yes they are way more happy to be in the air. Only problem I have is I couldn’t afford the planes. Oh wait dare I say if would stop buy Saito’s for a while I would be able to get some new planes to put the masterpieces in. Hmmmmm.
