The Difference
When the right cylinder is moved to the left, the exhaust port is now the intake and the intake is now the exhaust. Somehow that makes a difference.
Woops, Gary pretty much said that already.

Saito 182 left cam
Sure thing Cap, the 182 left cam is also wide spaced. This picture is from the Horizon parts page. I wanted to make sure so I didn't fib.
When you get your 1.15, the manual still exists although it's pretty useless: SAI-Small-Medium_engine_manual-lo.pdf

Yes, still talking about using the 90T rear (right?) cam in a 45.
Seems strange.that the LSA would be different between the left/right cams on a 90T. I understand that the 90T is a odd firing twin, firing one cylinder and then the other 180° later but why the difference in valve overlap?

1 Because they operate opposite valves.
2 Because the separation angle between the lifter bores is mirrored .
The twin runs dual cam assemblies or "camshafts". Each of course has two cam lobes. The intake and exhaust chores are flip flopped on the right and left camshafts.
Can get confusing too when we use "cam" as a short cut for saying "camshaft" The Standard Saito single cylinder camshaft places the intake cam lobe at the "front" of the engine, next to the spur gear.
The complimentary cylinder on an odd fire Saito twin camshaft places the exhaust cam lobe at the front.
The difference is the phasing or timing differences between the two camshafts to generate the desired firing order.
Since the single throw, ofd-fire and the two throw, even fire boxer type twin have different firing orders; The cams only need to be installed at the right point during the crank rotation to operate properly,

Right now I'm mumbling to myself "You have much to learn glashoppa"
It'll take me a while to grasp the lobe separation disparity between left and right camshafts in twins. All this roundy roundy, uppy downy, lefty righty mirrored parts stuff is a dylexics' freak'n nightmare!

I was just taking a close look at the FG 11, it has tiny copper gaskets on the rocker cover bolts and sealer between the cylinder and crankcase. I guess they don't want that black ooze that gassers make showing up and causing people to worry.
Ok, so now I know why the 62 cam doesn't work to convert the 45 to a 45S, wrong part number. The 62 cam is sai6535 and I need sai5035 . No wonder the 62 cam was over travelling the valves.
Anyone have a camshaft for an fa45S, fa50 or fa56 they can spare? They are on backorder everywhere.

Shameful
Yeah, I know, haven't cleaned it up yet. Thats how it was when I got it. It's been back and forth in my tool box since it is going in a plane that is at my friend house.
