Here is a pic of my Sr Kadet kit that was bashed into a LT-40 look a like.
Dave,
Real SWAK is a totally different material
It is not just pipe dope with Teflon filler. SWAK is an anaerobic compound, a bit like Loctite and cures in the absence of air. Either one however beats the old shredamatic tape and RTV bathtub stuff
Watch your mail, I will send you some.
Hoping next weekend to pull the planes out of the trailer and get them cleaned and stored. My trusty LT-40. I fly the crap out of this plane, have had the ailerons fail twice and flew it around on just the rudder alone when they did. Have replaced the hinges twice now on all surfaces too. It used to have an OS 52 on it, but switched it to the FG-11 after finding a Saito 65(?) for the T-Clips. With all the hours I have on this engine, I still think I have only run a gallon through it so far. Very stingy on fuel use.
No, Never seen the SWAK temperature rating as inadequate. I first found the SWAK in 1980 when working at Sun Electric. Only recalled it years later when looking for something better than Teflon tape.
Temperature ratings vary as test methods are different for various makers.
I have used a similar Loctite sealer but went back to SWAK .

Saito 1.15-a, what do some the others have on the right lug, Thanks
Santy Claus came today, Merry Christmas to me, Thankyou Mike, the engine is perfect and needs nothing. All I did was set the valve lash, exhaust only. Wow, my wife may drive out there and kiss you for me. I had a Velocity Stack already made up.

Hobbico Tach, now Hangar 9
I have this guy, but the name has become Hangar 9
It's hard to decipher Saito versions, sometimes the first version has no letter designation, I think I mentioned I have an A also..

Sure enough, look at this 125 muffler laying beside a 115 muffler. over night in the crock pot on low makes them beautiful again, over night on high makes them an ugly dark grey forever. I have the newer 125 muffler sealed up with fake Swak, so far so good. I too am a Johnny Cash fan, and a Slim Dusty fan, I listen to the Willie Nelson channel on Sirius Radio, they play great Country Music but not just Willie's.

Capt it could mean you are literate, rejoice laddie!! just pulling your leg. Mine have 2 ayes and a bee.
Dave willie made good music, my fave was blue skies shining on me. Not to keen on slim dusty after he sang that song called 'a pub with no beer' have you tried the wd40 on the grey muffler and do you have to get the muffler hot as well?

My fave of Slims is Memories and Dreams and then there is his Rodeo Rider song.
That particular muffler left here with the early 1.25, I have the 125-a muffler sealed with the stuff pictured above.
I'll try to make Cap's velocity stacks today, today's play time is limited. Enjoy all.
PS, Cap, I have two sets of the ICBIM gaskets coming for the 1.15 today, if you you need a set I'll put them in with the V stacks. I'm not going to need them
