Welcome to Club SAITO !
I am thinking I should just send you the parts I have you pick out what you need and send back the rest
The other 2 stroke glow is a 55ax on my Kwik Fli III, That will get my stock 82 once I get/make an exhaust adaptor for my modded HC 82 with the super cool Gary custom muffler.

It's not a Saito in my scaled up version but I do have a NIB fathead and also a run dual plug 120. I'm a few hours from Austin. But everything in Texas is a few hours away. They do have a great swap meet near Austin that you should arrange a trip to.

I was looking at the pics above of the older FA40 engines you posted. I have two of them with the single piece cylinder and head. I am building an old trainer kit that shows a old pre-Surpass OS FS40. I ran the pre-Surpass 40 and then the old FA40. The old FA 40 is 600 RPM stronger on a 11X6 so I think it is going into the trainer I am building.

No it's an ASP/Magnum that is soon to be running on CDI. Let me know when you are coming to Texas and if you are going through this area I will have a cold beverage waiting for you.
Those scales go back quite a while! The Snap-On tool guy often handed them out at Christmas.
In my early days doing sheet metal fab I did layouts using steel rules that were graduated in .020" increments. My eyes were good enough to divide those increments into quarters back then. Now those .020" increments look like a solid black line running the length of the rule.

Now that would be a great thing. I want to mount the conversion 45s on a Seniorita. That will leave only one 2 stroke glow in my hanger!

Crunchy, hard to go wrong with Mitutoyo or Brown & Sharp Digital Calipers ( +/- .0005" ) accuracy.
It's a "get what you pay for" thing with precision measurement instruments and those two brands start at around $140. That said, even the best calipers aren't the most accurate way to measure for precision machining but will get you close enough for what most of us do with them.
Even the cheapo $25 Harbor Frieght or Amazon calipers will serve our purposes at ( +/- .0015) if you find one that's not obviously mechanically defective. Lots of quality control issues with those so it's a hit and miss thing.
Gary may know of a good "middle of the road" digital caliper, I have not found one yet.

Lonnie, I didn't get to the 1.15 yesterday, too much Dr. stuff, more Dr. stuff this AM, maybe this after noon. The current Micro Mark Digital is $43.00: https://www.micromark.com/Fractional-Digital-Caliper
Pre-digital from Micro Mark measuring Saito .80 venturi.

Gee Thanks a LOT Crunch for the cold weather, but could have done without the icy roads. Too early for that s***. I have two pair of digital calipers that I use for all sorts of things. One in my shop, one in my automotive tools. A must when rebuilding differentials. I have one like this that I have had now for 15 years, and the only issue I has was the hinges breaking on the case.
Actually now that I look closer at it, both of mine have the same display case, and the other one I have is over 20 years old.

Hinges on my "at work/ shop floor" calipers are loooong gone. I wrapped the case with glued on leather many years ago!
Ancient Mitutoyo caliper case with leather wrap , hinge gave up years ago.
Added calculator in cover lid. Pencil too
