If I can get my 125 to start and run reliably, I could get more flights on mine. Once I figured out what was causing it to snap over when applying up elevator, it was a joy to fly. Just haven't been able to get it started, and being inverted and buried in the cowl, makes it difficult to troubleshoot. I have a Kit version I am still working on, and if I run across a 115 when I have cash, then I will grab it for that plane. I have a YS110 that I planned to use, but the tank setup is too complex for that skinny fuse. I will find a different use for it in something with more room for the twin fuel dots it needs for fuelling.

FA100 & FA115 Peak RPM W/ APC 14x8
Cold this afternoon but I ran both engines for you guys. Same fuel, prop, glow plug and test stand. Engines were warmed up for exactly 5 minutes before peak rpm was taken. HP and static thrust values are calculated. 15% nitro used and temp was 38°f.

Acdii, mounting a YS110 or even a YS115 in a WM 46 size warbirds is commonplace in warbird pylon racing. I've researched warbird racing quite a bit but found that most people keep their tips and tricks for speed close to the vest.

Saito fa100 is 20.9 oz and the fa115 is 23.49 oz. The fa125 is 24.69 oz. I've read in a number of places that the fa115 has the highest power to weight ratio of any of the saitos, that's one of the reasons I was looking for one.
My 60 size Topflite P51 flies good on the fa100 as well. No speed demon, but no shortage of pulling power either. It's just about right. I was going to mount the fa115 on it but I think I'll put the fa115 on the 46-55 size Strega instead. That why I bench tested it with the 12x12.5 prop. I have a 13x11 apc on order.

Cap, go to the Tachometer page and do some searching, maybe go back and start with the fist page.
here are some FA 100 RPM numbers with Zingers,, now I would believe that APC of the same size would rev higher.

it does look like a 12X12 APC will work.
something like 9100 on the ground and 10000 in the air. At least that’s what I was thinking. That little P51 should scoot then.

Jim, in that second link I think there's a typo. No way an FA100 will turn an apc 14x8 at 9600. That almost 2 hp! All the other numbers make sense as the engine tested was probably not fully broke in yet and was making somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.7 hp.

15x8 Eflight prop on my 100 turned 8700 on the ground. It is what I have in my Cub. If you want a Cub that performs like an F-15, I recommend it. Runway? I no need no stinkin runway! With that combo the Cub can practically be hand launched.
