I wasted some metal learning and practicing, I managed to make a pair of adapters that suited me. The ID of the latest FA 30 mufflers is .5 mm larger than the earlier ones so the adapters match that.
Jim, I made a little diamond patch in the center for arts sake.

Dave,
Nice job, like a duck to water! I am gathering up some more metal bits. Will load up a Flat Rate USPS box and head it your way.
Also need to send some solder out to acdii.
I will try to get you some tips on making elbows too. Maybe photographs.

Some day I am going to hit up the local Rockford metal places and get some scraps to play with. Not in any hurry though, have way too many other projects to work on, and still need to replace the power supply for the CNC since I somehow got an AC instead of DC power supply. Hope it didn't burn the controller, but only the power supply smoked.
Whaaat?
Good chance that something bad happened there. What are the specs for the needed supply? (Volts/Amps, AC input voltage). I have quite a few DC supplies lurking about and would be glad to help.

Yeah, I don't know but the power supply case and plug are identical to what comes with the Sherline, but was an AC and not DC one. Its a 24 volt 4 Amp DC with what looks like the plug used on old AT keyboards, but with a different pin out. Thats what I have to determine, the pin out. there are 2 + and 2 - pins, but I wont know which is which without opening up the controller and and running some traces to find ground and +.
I haven't done it yet to compare, but it looks like this one, at least I think it does, have to check the plug.
Looks like a 4-pin "Mini DIN" connector. It may have a +12 / 0 / -12volt layout too. Most likely they are using 2 pins each positive and negative to handle the amperage. Those Mini Din pins are only good for a couple of amps each at best..
I'm not sure that it is a mini din yet, I just never think about looking at it when I am in the shop, but will get to it some day. Once I do, I can also figure out if I can easily just replace the jack with something else, like a barrel plug, which will make it easier to get a power supply.. I mean, it's not like there is a warranty to protect.

Thanks for kind remarks, I misspoke above, I used a double wheeled knurling tool to do a bit of deco. Cleanliness is super important.
Mine is cleaner than this one.

click on saito and in stock for all the available parts.
I took the controller apart and I can fit a barrel plug or some other plug to it. It does use the AT connector with the 5 smiley pins used by keyboards, but only the two outer pins are powered.

I use skis. Tail draggers only!
Still have a nice 1/5 scale Pica Waco that I would sell reasonably. Could probably come up with a Saito FA-150 for it , also at a very reasonable price.

I got a chance to run the 60 twin a little while ago with the Graupner prop show above. In the picture it's turning 6,000.
Saito 60 twin boxer
Prop Graupner three blade 11 x 7
Fuel Wildcat 10% with 18% full synthetic
Exhaust adapted twin FA 30 mufflers
Plugs Glow Devil for Saito/ Enya
Max rpm after 30 minutes run time a solid 7,950
Idle, not set yet, 30 degree air too cold for hands
Beautiful purr and smooth as silk.
Left cylinder smokes more than the right one, an inquiring mind will investigate.
Running at 6,000 rpm.
