Yes kemnik, On my build I'm doing even less than that. I'm putting a Mamba 4600kV in with the hopes it'll have as much or more than the stock 5700kV with less heat. Then I'll deal with speeds through gearing. We'll see how it goes!!

I have a new Sprint F lux. I've had it for a week and it seems great. My question is, how big of a battery can it handle? I've been runninf=g a 2s 4000, I'd like to try a 3s if it can handle it. Reading tgh eprev. posts I'm guessing not.

Also, I'm surprised that HPI wouldn't take care of the problem with the dogbones. My Savage flux was having transmission problems, i sent the whole truck back to them, the tech dept rebuilt the entire drive train for nothing. I was very happy with their tech service.

I just wanted to put a quick note on here about Battery Connectors;

You should ALWAYS use a female terminal on the Battery and a male on the ESC/Receiver. The reason is, if you put a MALE connector on a LIPO, it is very easy for the metal tips to touch something else metal and THEN you will have a nice little fire, or worse, a nice explosion!

The reason I wanted to warn ya'll about this is because I had a friend that soldiered a mail dean's on a Lipo that was for me. I didn't pay attention to what he had did and threw the battery in my coat pocket. The tabs touched onto my keychain and it was like a blow torch had been lit inside of my pocket!!

It took about 5 seconds and the battery and my keys (melted together) fell out of the front of my coat and landed on the concrete basement floor. I ran upstairs to grab a fire extinguisher and by the time i got back, there was a nice size hole, about 1/4 inch deep, in the floor and a nasty little camp fire where there shouldn't of been one!

I will NEVER NEVER NEVER let anyone hand me a battery again without inspecting it FIRST! LOL

Just to summarize, Please use only FEMALE battery terminals on the BATTERY! That way, there is no metal tabs to touch your KEYS!!

Man you're lucky you didn't get some serious burns outta that incident![sm=omg_smile.gif] Just can't stress enough how important it is to pay careful attention to batteries and ALWAYS give them the respect they deserve. But inevitably the human brain is programmed to make mistakes every now and then. A few months back I burned out my Firestorm's old esc. I plugged the bullet connectors into my lipo the opposite way and within just a few seconds i smelled something burning and realized what I had done. I'm always really careful too, but just the once I wasn't and ruined a perfectly good $120 brushless esc!

alsoi can share..I got rid of alot of steering slop initially by getting those small black hair bands people use on their braids etc., figure 8 them, anddouble them up to makeit tighter), and wrapped them around all of the paired linkage.

Guys, I hate to butt in, but I've been searching everywhere for this. I'm trying to find out the difference between the Sprint and the Sprint 2, and mainly, if I got the standard one, are Sprint 2 parts compatible with it. Thanks in advance.

I think so, but to make sure you can email HPI customer support. You could also check the part numbers on the manuals. I think you can download the Sprint 2 manual and probably the Sprint.

I don't see too many TVR bodies. I really like the design of this car. Finally was able to take a few pics

Im not 100% correct on my Lipo knowledge but Its a bit more specific the just 4600 or 5700.

The 4600 vs the 5700. The 5700 Will give you much more run time then the 4600 but it will also take longer the charger the 5700.
As for Lipos most are in the 2S or 3S category. 3S is simply more powerful then the 2S.

In all honestly If you don't know very much about 5700 Lipo's over a 4600 Lipo, You might want to back the power down to nothing higher then a 7.2v 4200mah Lipo. And again, If you don't know what Im talking about by "7.2v 4200mah Lipo" you really need to ask your LHS (local hobby store) about Lipo's and finding a more suitable battery for your skill level.

Just IMO

Sorry. I had a nice long conversation about Lipo's and was stuck on that for some reason. Complete pass me on the motors.

Christmas time is coming...Hey, I have a Sprint Flux 2 Mustang coming my way for Christmas and I was wondering if someone could provide the top parts I should be ordering now (most likely to break) to put in my tool box so I can actually play with the car during the holidays. If a hop up will fix whatever problem areas there are let me know...
