When you talk about servo calibration do you mean trim?
Yep.

In terms of suspension upgrades etc. what parts would I have to buy in order to 'eliminate all of the slop and make it completely tuneable'? Alloy arms and shocks... anything else? Steering knuckles?
Not necessarily alloy... Turnbuckle tie rods and adjustable upper arm kit are the biggest add-ons, alloy rear knuckles with your desired toe-in built in are right after that, followed by the aluminum steering parts. Personally, I think the Tamiya plastic kits are as good or better than the alloy kits; the type of plastic Tamiya uses is a touch lighter than the alloy, and plastic has some "give" and rebound to it; when (not if, *when*) you collide with something hard and immovable, the plastic parts will flex a bit to dissipate the shock and recover their original shape. The alloy bits will be more likely to either transmit all of the energy to the chassis, or bend and stay bent. The guy I build with on this tour got all AL front suspension bits, and wound up shattering his chassis tub front lower arm socket when he clipped a lightpole. The only exception in my opinion might be the AL steering gear; you want the steering hardware to be as stiff as possible, to maintain accuracy...

Shocks are good, but not necessarily the first thing on my shopping list; you need to minimise the slop elsewhere in the suspension before working on damping and rebound. Anti-sway bars are okay, but you need to have the adjustable parts installed first; they don't work with the OEM suspension. And I've heard from others in this forum that they really don't accomplish all that much. I'll do some experimenting with a set one of these days, maybe, but I've got a lot more things to twiddle around with on my car first...

You'll definitely spend less money getting the drift-spec car from the start, but IMO you might have more fun tweaking the E-spec car into a drifter. Depends on whether you enjoy tinkering or not.

I’m looking for something I can take to a smooth parking lot or tennis court and drive fast and corner. I’m more of a RTR guy but would be open to building if it wasn’t a major project. I was looking at the TT01’s out on tower and it is so confusing with prices all over the place. Is a TT-01 a TT-01 or are there differences.? I there any model that comes with all the upgrades?

I typically replace the RX as I have a DX3. I also have the motor and speed controller out of my slash that I just upgraded to VXL.

Any suggestions welcomed?

I did some searching tonight and I'm thinking of getting the TT-01R. What do you think about putting the VXL motor and esc in it as I have one lying around?

hey,
curious if anyone has tried running a Speed Passion Endless Brushless Motor Competition 2.5R in their TT-01, i have become quite bored of the slowness of my car and im in the need for speed.
Basically im planning on running:
Speed Passion Endless Brushless Motor Competition 2.5R
Sentilon100A ESC
Polyquest 5100mAh 2S 25C RXP Racing Lipo Pack

Im only experimenting but any tips you have such as what a good gearing would be, i gather a high reduction set up but not sure on what is right for this.

cheers

before you upgrade your gears try the stock setting for the car. if you feel that it could go faster upgrade point by point, may i suggest that if you jump to high you might miss the adequate gear setting, drift or touring.

yeh i was more thinking of trying not to put to much stress on the motor and such..
it would probably just be for touring i doubt ill beable to handle drifting with this motor

Also i was curious of how well the diff in the TT-01s handle the high powered motors after a few runs.

They will handle BL as long as your not mashing the throttle hard lol
Ive ran a mm5700 on 8cells and a vxl on 9 cells in mine with no problems but be warned over 50mph+ the handling goes out the window LMAO best to get the upgraded chassis for fast speeds
Another thing is the steering at 35+mph its sloppy at 50+ its unpredictable to say the least

Painted up a new body today and i love the colour! I love how it came out so i though i would share! Enjoy, let me know what you think!

The blue lambo is the one with all the red parts and is wating for a brushless/lipo set up. The green lambo with sliver parts has a 15x2 Peakracing/Tazer ESC running on 4200 NiMH Batterys.

If your just looking for a basic radio any radio will do, theres nothing special about basic radios. If you want something with all the goodies look into Spektrum or something along thos lines!

Proline makes a Charger body if your looking for the newer style: http://www.prolineracing.com/p-328-d...ger-srt-8.aspx
I beleve HPI makes and older style one, but im not 100% on that.

As for an ESC it depends on what you plan to do, if you wanna go REALLY fast, then any good brusless set up will do, novak/sidewinder/ect ect Or you can do something smiple like a Tazer 12T esc (im useing one of these now) and get your self a good 12-19T motor.

ESC: http://www.dynamiterc.com/Products/D...ProdID=DYN4927

Im sure you are going to be asking this sooner or later "whats the must have items" Well here it is!

1) oil filled shocks
2) Alum drive shaft
3) good tires
4) Alum steering setup
5) adjustble a-arms
6) carbon fiber uper chassis
7) full race bearings
8) good driving skills

Tho are the "must haves" Keep in mind its a TT-01, this car was ment to be an awsome raceing machine, but with a little bit of changes and some pratice with it, its not a bad little car.

Slim
