RE: KMP F-7F Tigercat
CHASRB, BOTH FLIGHTS HAVE BEEN WITH THE APC 16X8 2 BLADERS, HAVEN'T FLOWN WITH THE 3 BLADERS YET. THE 3 BLADE PROPS SOUND VERY DIFFERENT THAN THE 2V BLADE, EVERY SCALE. THIS IS A WEIRD STATEMENT BUT YOU CAN FEEL BOTH PROPS LITERALLLY "INHALE" THE AIR AROUND YOU FROM THE FRONT AT FULL THROTTLE. I HAVE NEVER "FELT" THIS WITH ANY SINGLE ENGINE PLANES.
I'VE TRIED AT LEAST 4 TIMES TO DOWNLOAD THE VID, CAN'T SEEM TO GET IT TO GO, THE VID IS RECORDED OFF OF MY DV VIDEO CAMERA, BURNED TO A DVD. ATTEMPTING TO DOWNLOAD TO THE RC VIDEO,COM WITH A DSL LINE. FRUSTRATING............

If you want to mail me the dvd (a copy) I'll be happy to put it on the video site.
That taking the air away is something I never though about, but I guess you are right two props take a lot of air...

Hi,
Your 'Cat really looks great! And thanks for your words on the flight. I have read a historical report on the Tigercat development, including flight testing. Under no circumstances were squadron pilots allowed to spin the 'Cat!! Flight tests showed that you could not recover after 4 turns, and even fewer would be difficult. So.....!

As a matter of interest what are you doing with engine thrust lines, keeping as is or not? The prototype was flown as is.

KINVER, I KEPT THE ENGINE THRUST LINES AS IS FROM THE FACTORY. THE PLANE FLIES STRAIGHT AND SHOWS NO WEIRD FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS ON TAKE OFF OR LANDING. KEEP THE ENGINES SINKED UP AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE.....

Hi everyboddy
i received my plane last week, I open it today to see if everything are correct, I have the bleu retract whit plastic bushing, 2 fuel tank 448cc and at my surprise 2 air tanks
is normal or it's a mistake, the flying season is finish or almost finish
I will start bulding it this winter,

Just saying I used the G20's in a B25 around the same weight and it was not up to my standards, very very scale is ok for some but I like a little extra power for when I need it.
If I were to use gas in the F7F I myself would use nothing less than the 26's like Vkerster, he reported that he is very happy from the performance and the 26's are only a few dollars more than the G20's.

I am still going ahead and putting 2x Zenoah 20's as some have been flown on 2x90's. I had a B25 Y.T 18.5 lbs and it flew ace on 2 x RCV 58's!!!!! The Zenoah 20 is a great motor and I think it will be adequately powered. Richard

The Zenoah 20's will fit better in the cowl's though, and I don't think there will be that much difference in power to weight ratio. Sometimes size does'nt matter!!!!

PYLON2, SOMETHING TO CONSIDER: THE T-CAT HAS A VERY HEAVY TAIL SECTION. ASSUMING PRODUCTION T-CATS BASICALLY WEIGH THE SAME, YOUR BIRD WILL NEED LOTS OF LEAD IN THE NOSE NO MATTER WHAT ENGINES YOU CHOOSE. WITH THE G-26'S, AND A 3000 MAH BATTERY FORWARD OF THE FRONT BULKHEAD, MY PLANE NEEDED 12 OZ. OF LEAD AS FAR FORWARD IN THE NOSE AS I COULD GET IT TO BALANCE, PER THE CG DIM. IN THE MANUAL. IF YOU STAY WITH THE G-20'S, MY GUESS IS YOUR PLANE WILL NEED SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 20 AND 24 OZ. OF LEAD TO BALANCE. (DEAD WEIGHT) THIS IS A FACT OF PHYSICS. BALANCE THE BIRD WITH THE TANKS EMPTY.

RE: KMP F-7F Tigercat
Mine is almost ready to fly.......put 2 Saito 100's in her. What about the gear system, what kinda air pump for it, will the ROBART hand pump work? And, what about 2 tank hook up, i assume just both tanks go to a tee and then on, is that correct?
All in all it's been failry easy but not as good a kit as I expected. I've done more damage just from building handling then I could believe. I'll need a major paint retouch job with the airbrush.

Hi there,
What does yours weigh please, and after the earlier posts about dead weight how much lead did you put up front to balance with the wheels up of course. Cheers Richard.
