Just looked in the mailbox and saw your package. Plenty of opportunities there!
I need to read up on the Hall Effect guitar pickups, among other things.
Yes indeed, need to look into a sked on 40 or 20 SSB.
My sole late model is an Icom 7300. I only have dipoles at present . The Commander 2500 may help. I do work Texas regularly on both bands. Most of my gear is vintage, tube stuff. Only at this qth a couple of years but planning a tower in spring.
We went to the PO Wednesday, they were lined up out the door and only had one attendant present. After 1/2 hour in line she said her computer froze up. Busy yesterday so we made it this morning .
Package went out Priority.

Here is my old , no flap Rascal 110. Just put a 150 HC Saito on it a few years ago. Left the cowl off in this pic during the initial sorting out. Heavy Lanyu 18-6 prop.
Rarely take it to the field unless I feel like napping during the flight.

Also have VM one of those Grate Pains Super Chipmunks. This one powered by an ancient FZ-120 YS . Another nice feature with YS is no nasty case vent plumbing

Yessir,
That FA-150 with CH should do the trick very well. The Rascal can practically fly itself.
I eventually did a major rework of the landing gear mount. I put a lot of hours on it and do tons of touch and go landings. The plane looks so sweet setting down and doing tail up roll outs. Mine is the early version without flaps.

I finally picked up a Rascel 110 with Saito 200R3.
but it needs some help. Thinking CH ignition will solve a lot of problems and somebody put the tank in to low. But when that 200 is running wow what a fun plane.

Sounds like she'll be a real keeper! It amazes me how SIG could make a great airplane like the Rascal 110 and then turn around and have such a failure in the Rascal 168.

I have a 120 3W on mine and it takes a licking and keeps on ticking, only trouble is I glued the tail on solid, I wish I would’ve made it removable because it is kind of a son of a gun to move around

Good combo with that three in a row 200! Bet it is a lot of fun.
My original plan was to put one of my 182TDs on the Rascal. Took the easy way out and went with the FA-150 glow. Even a 180 should work well.

Here is a pic of those covers just as I got them. I filed and sanded the surfaces then finished them with a Scotchbrite wheel.

Another pair of nasty covers that were salvaged. The chrome was ruined but good aluminum remained below the surface.
These too were filed and sanded. Rather than the Scotchbrite brush finish these were buffed for shiny finish.

well Thats what happens when a Engineer who was let go to begin with because he didn’t build good airplanes talks the new owners into building an airplane and this is what you get however with the struts mounted the 168 does fly really good

Well that Chipmunk, you actually have the correct rudder for the markings! Discovered that when recovering mine. The Goldberg kit has the N13Y tail and N1114V markings.

Ha ha,
The small block were sent here from a fellow RCU member in Florida. He had asked on the RCG site about painting plastic valve covers. They looked so bad he thought they were plastic and could only get saved by PAINT!
I replied they should be aluminum unless Saito had made a batch of [latic. He sent them to me to check and I reurned them as you see them.
The big block covers were sitting over winter in the beanfield. Someone found it mid-summer. The owner took one look at the recovered engine and handed it to me.

No reason for concern yet. Parts are just stabilizing a bit. Keep an eye on it.
Planning on a two wheel vacation real soon, my friends can contact me directly by email.
Jim, no more parts making. I gave my machinery to my son, retired from the day job.

Hey guys, you know, there are some really super great people in this hobby, like the Saito Freaks I know LOL. no better people. I received a box today, funny thing, I didn't order anything and here sets a 9.9 to 1 Saito 150. wow,
when I got the box I looked, and I saw the name Hobbs on it. and I said to myself "what did that guy Dave do", I opened it and there sat that Saito 150,,,,, wow
I don't know why me, but today my life was made better !!!! thank you Dave, thank you Capt, you guys are the best !!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally agree jim there are some good folks here. I always wanted to send you a large saltwater crocodile tooth (etc) but australia post won't handle a 25 foot long crate weighing 3000 pounds, probably could have squeezed in an akoubra (crocodile dundee) hat for you too buddy.
ps capt do you have a keleo ring for the fa200r3 ?

Were some of you blocked off here because of a huge Cloudflare outage. According their outage map nearly the whole eastern half of the nation was out. Thanks
You're welcome Jim, that was a collaborative effort between Cap and I. He supplied the engine and I supplied new bearings, gaskets and freed up the ring. I don't think you'll turn the engine over by gripping the prop driver.
Pete, I have a 6" Ryobi bench grinder. It's a 3,600 rpm, single speed.
