Maybe I can help? From past experience with several different laser cutters I have seen them handle shipping costs two common ways.

1. They pre-determine the actual cost of shipping for lower 48 and charge accordingly.
2. They set a flat rate for the lower 48 and build in any overage to the cost of the cutting.

Clear as mud?

I can't tell you if they make any money but their websites are still up and running. That said they work regular jobs too.

Good old walbro carbies!!

And my project retirement car just for the run down to the local supermarket so i can get a parking space right by the front door.

The shipping part is difficult to determine mainly due to the size of the packaging. The parts I cut for the giant corsair require a 30" minimum length. It's not the weight but the package size that is giving me fits. First finding a box that works, and second finding the proper method of costing the shipment based on the package dimensions. a 10 pound 6 x 6 x 6 box costs far less to ship than a 2 pound 6 X 12 x 36 box. If I kept the parts in the sheet by tabbing them, then I am looking at a 6 x 12 x 48 box. For these kind of packages, a contract with a shipper is required to get any kind of break on costs. That has been my dilemma.

Oh, while I think of it, going to do a Wasp and make thought posts.

I was planning to make up a few batches of short kits and take them to swap meets, but now that Toledo is no more, that has been put aside as well. Unless we get a break on this Vid crap, I don't foresee any swap meets locally this winter either.

Funny what you see in small towns around here. Maybe my next fix-m-up project. Hmmmm

Of course I won't be happy until it makes rated hp.

Rocket car? Come on Mike, where are you from? It's clearly just your average Jet Truck.

Jethro Thrower? I'll have to look up that episode. I always thought Jethro was on something, maybe the stuff they put in Coca Cola back in the day. I think Granny might have been wiggin too.

Surprised you didn't suggest a Holley double pumper 850!
I would have said a trio of Dellorto 40mm but those are verboten to mention as they are found on two wheeled vehicles.

Howdy jim i like the look those huge old dual throat weber carbies from the 70's. The old fa300 twin was originally a single carb and then later a twin carb set up so you could fine tune the mixture for each cylinder which is what i prefer, the kolm IL230 inline triple swings a menz 32x18@4700 so i want to keep a data log track of individual cylinder head temps to prevent over high cht readings, it's an expensive engine.

Dave i've always been a huge fan of tom's attention to detail on his painted saito engines, pretty to look at.

Lonnie jethro bodine (max baer jr) had a university degree and was a mean golfer, had me fooled for years

Max JR's uncle killed a bull in the movie Quo Vadis. Don't let Lonnie see that 4,700 rpm figure, he'll figure that engine only makes 1 hp and will have a fit.

My OPS Maxi 30 had a Delorto pumper carb.

It is gorgeous. I hope he used anti-seize on those stainless steel screws. If not, that engine may be permanently assembled.

actually a Holley was my first thought, but not an 850, too big, maybe a 500 2 barrel.

Interesting, I ran a CP '97 Camaro in SCCA for 4 years. Placed in the top half of the field at the Nats in that 700 lb. overweight ride. Had some good times but too many type A personalities in one place for my liking.

Had a good time today running up some Saitos all by my lonesome.

Pete, I have no Saito wisdom to share this AM, and I don't see any to soak up. I tell people that I'm tall, dark and handsome, if you can live without tall and dark.

One of the mufflers Gary sent me is 13 mm, so I have an extra 125 muffler.

Okey Dokey, it's yours, we have flooding and rain laying everywhere here, I'll head it your way Monday. I drove the Cruze through 12" of water yesterday and it never faltered.

With the early model Cruze you didn't have to worry about flood waters entering the engine, blown head gaskets took care of that for you.
