Hey guys, I've been out of the hobby for years and came across an e30 m3 on ebay and had to have it. (It's one of my favorite cars and I"m fortunate enough to have one). So I bought it about a month ago and got completely sucked into all of the performance mods available for it. This car is an absolute blast to drive, you just need a big open lot to use it in because control is more of a suggestion than a command with the 7700 brushless set up. Here are a couple of pics, I hope you like it.

Hey guys, just a quick question, my motor is rated for either a 2 cel lipo which is 7.4 volts or an 8 cell nimh battery which would be 9.6 volts. I don't know a whole lot about lipo batteries, but I've read how much power they produce and how fast lipo powered cars are so my question is; which batery would make my car run faster a 7.4 volt lipo or a 9.6 volt nimh battery? It seems as though the logical answer is the higher the voltage, the faster the car, but I'm always open to suggestion, so let me know what you think.
-thanks, Mike

I'm thinking it'd be faster on 9.6v (9.6x7700=73920rpm unloaded) whereas 7.4v would be less rpm (7.4x7700=56980rpm unloaded), the difference in rpm unloaded is considerable (16940rpm)

im guessing you have a mamba max 7700, 9.6nimh vs. lipo7.4

9.6 nimh is more power to begin with - but dies out with run time.
7.4 lipo is moderate current but continously without draining itself - the power is constant.

count down front body post. [link]http://sirclegion.com[/link]

this model can take a 3cell 11.1 lipo

So will I see any aprecciable difference in speed from a 7.2v nimh to a 7.4v lipo battery? Or will the difference be strictly run time?

you will feel much power at constant long run times...but you have to be carefull with lipo cutoff...[8D]

yes you will see longer run times and more power as lipos put out more ampage burst than nimh batteries

It is usually the servo saver's slop causing the steering to be off then.

Im sure you are going to be asking this sooner or later "whats the must have items" Well here it is!

1) oil filled shocks
2) Alum drive shaft
3) good tires
4) Alum steering setup
5) adjustble a-arms
6) carbon fiber uper chassis
7) full race bearings
8) good driving skills

Tho are the "must haves" Keep in mind its a TT-01, this car was ment to be an awsome raceing machine, but with a little bit of changes and some pratice with it, its not a bad little car.

Slim
What are the best sites for those parts?
Im coming from offroad cars and am not familiar with onroad
