Pedro, the "pay it forward" 45 parts are boxed up labelled and sitting here on my bench. Looks like we're going to be iced in for at least 5 days. Generators have been tested, plenty of fuel, plenty of firewood and food. Bring it on!
Oh dang, I forgot to get coffee! Nooooooooooo!

Hey Jynx,
Been going ti Wauseon for decades. Great racing, with so many great sounds! We always camp out there. Love the county fairrgrounds venue too Also try to make Mid Ohio with a side trip to Ashland 1/2 Mile. Been to Lima a fre times when tickets come our way.
Hope you get a good workout today.

Spent many years with Mary Jane down there. We sure had fun. He passed this spring. Probably someone you had also known.

Speaking of coffee my oldest son got me hooked on Ruta Maya coffee from Cosco about 2 years ago. He buys it in a large bags and then grinds it on the way out the door, its really good stuff. I think Walmart and a few other places has it too. The roasting company is out of Austin, TX and the Arabica coffee beans are grown by a Mayan farm collective in southern Mexico. I have him get me a bag of dark and medium roast then mix the beans before grinding. I got admit it beats the national brands I buy what's on sale. Since I'm not a Cosco member he has to buy it, the beautiful part is he pays for it, you can't beat free coffee!
Been busy with other projects after I finished the plane and needed to get the plans scanned to go any further. Now that I have my own scanner, I can get back to the fuselage parts.
Only thing I use now is Lightburn. Since it is all 2D, no sense buying and learning software that only moves x-y. Eventually I may get an Adobe Illustrator subscription for creating graphics, but for now, Lightburn does a decent job. I have Fusion 360, but don't have the time or patience to learn it just yet.

Since 3D printers are getting so cheap I have been toying with getting a 3D printer to make cowlings, wheel pants, and assorted other accessories but first I would want to get a 3D software to play with to see if I could build the object file. Even if the object ends up as a plug for fiberglass it would simplify things.

I have been working on a better cooling baffeles than is
offered on the market. Your opinion / constructive criticisme would be apreaciated. This is version 1.0
Beliving forced air from the prop would improve the cooling with "aerodynamic" baffeles.
What do you think?
Yes my molding skils need some refining. I beleive for 2.0 version silver gelcoat and a good dust off!

I think your baffle forces the air where you want it to go and it looks like you have enough exits to get the heated air back out so I would say you are good.

Marvair, Welcome to Club Saito! You won't have any heat related problems with that setup. Can you provide a link to the louvers?

Got them sometime ago. there was 2 size then. It sure looks good with small pop rivets.

Most important thing is to make sure air exits the cowl faster than it enters. Having cowl flaps creates a low pressure point at the exit openings to draw the heat out, which in turn pulls more air in. Baffles direct the air through the fins, keeping it cool. Those are the basics and loos like you have them covered.

How could you forget a necessity like coffee?! I feel your pain! Coffee its the pilot lube for Saito powered airplanes!

Just to see what interest there is, I posted an ad on the site for the plans services. The hardest part of it is figuring the shipping costs. Looks like a 2 page set of Top Flight Corsair plans would cost about $9 ground to LA from here. I should probably order a bundle of USPS tubes so I can get exact weights.
How does this sound for a domain name, RCshortkitsandprints.com?

The key words will net hits from dopes like me hoping to build a plane.
Are you offering the Great Lakes Special with the round nose yet???

ACDC, Get your 3D printer , scale it to fit a FA170R3 , and a Great Lakes Special (love that plane ) sounds GREAT to me. Have to get up with MARVAIR then.

Already have a backlog of planes that are being converted. Working on a Razorback P-47 right now. In the process of cleaning and smoothing the lines on all the parts. Have something like 30 sheets to process, then cut samples out of card stock to verify fit before moving on to the next one. Have a request in for a Bearcat as well, and a P-82.

Legend Hobbies (formerly VQ) has louvers like that too.
