ajb,

What type of problems did you have with your opti-drive?

the new revo has wider a arms but the same chassis . the opti drive is junk. i like reverse on these trucks(tmaxx and revo) just remove the opti drive and dont switch it on the fly. nothing but problems with the opti drive

Nope...hate to argue with yah but it is the 17mm hexes + offset rims that make it wider...not longer arms. The new Slayer has a-arms that are 1/2" wider but not the Revo.

The main issue I had with the Opti-drive was it did not like the aftermarket radio I installed. The opti-drive kept on going into failsafe mode no matter what I tried. I installed the FOC and forgot about it and reverse. Now that I have converted both my Revo's to electric, it is nice to have reverse back, though.

The revo does use wider arms. Revo 3.3 arms are much longer than revo 2.5 arms.

Again...the a-arms are the exact same whether it is the 2.5, old 3.3, new 3.3, newest 3.3 or Platinum (or E-Revo brushed or brushless and Summit). The only exception is the Platinum (and Summit) comes with the extended rear a-arms installed (increased wheel base not width). The 3.3 does have a longer chassis than the 2.5 but any change in width (which has been the same until the most rescent version which uses offset rims) is due to the rims. A buddy of mine had a 2.5 and I had the 3.3 and we could interchange almost every part.
