RE: ANOTHER COMP ARF SPITFIRE
Hey Captain Ron!
Thank you, can't wait for the nice weather. The Bearcat is fixed and ready to go, will be flying it this year.
About Carrera, what about a new set of the Digital 132 to add to my track in the basement! What's the deal with Pro X gone already!!!
See you soon.
Bruno

Hey Bruno,
Pro X was not ours. We licensed it from the inventor. The new digital 132 is much better and more cutting edge..... And it is totally Carrera.......I can get you what ever you want at my cost without haveing to become a dealer, although, I'd love to have you as a dealer. I'll shoot you up a new 2011 catalog when I get em in.
WOD is just around the corner.........

Hey Flyingchef,
Any progress on your build?
I am curious to see how the really interesting air ducting is turning out for you.
Also looking forward to see more of the sliding canopy installation.
Just ordered my Spitfire and hope to receive it within a week or two. (a loooong wait)
When I'm at it, have you seen the cool new functional exhaust system from Keleo Creations?
First limited batch on stock & ready to ship.
Check it out!

RE: ANOTHER COMP ARF SPITFIRE
Finally after a busy month I am back on the project. I would have installed the Keleo exhaust but the mark II has only three stacks on each side. I ordered the J-Tec wrap around and the Ziroli molded stacks.
For now I have been working on the cockpit details, just need to complete the pilot seat and other small items. The throttle quadrant I have is for a Mark IX so I went on making a new one for the Mark II with the Throttle lever moving forward when the throttle is applied.

RE: ANOTHER COMP ARF SPITFIRE
Bruno,
I did some measuring and it looks like the thinest we can go on the header section 3W 85 wrap around pitts muffler is about 1.125" from the portion of the exhaust flange that sticks out the most. I took your picture and marked the area that I am talking about.
email us at [email protected] or [email protected] and let us know how you think it will work.
Good Luck,

Bruno, in your last pic I see a little blob of green paint on the fuselage..zis eez not scale!. As usual, your building skills are world class! The cockpit is magnifique and I can't wait to see the maiden. I'm going to be shooting paint on Lora's Yellow Spit this weekend and then the weathering fun begins! By the way, I love the radiator cooling hose system...very cool. By the way, don't forget the little button just behind the mirror that unlatches the canopy...wouldn't be "scale without it!

Busted!!!!!!!!
I got this cool machine, the "Mignaturasor", the full scale was just hard to get in the basement!
Green paint! wherrrrrrrrrrrrre............
Button, hum... I have been installing so many #%@#&%) buttons lately now I need my therapist!
Doug, Can't wait to see your Spitfire in the air, perhaps it will be ready for the Scale fly-in July 23rd?
Been a Mark II Spitfire, the bullet proof windshield in located on the outside of the canopy, I use G10 for the framing.
Captain Ron! Looking forward for Warbirds Over Pueblo.

RE: ANOTHER COMP ARF SPITFIRE
Thanks!
Since I installed the engine against the fire-wall (everything fits in the cowl now, thank you Clark!), I machined a 1.25" hub for the prop. The firewall was also modified to fit the muffler, I used few layers of carbon fiber to follow the contour of the muffler with 1/4" gap. The cooling ducting output from the fire-wall is visible on the right of the engine, the cowl also has the finished ducting to the front of the engine. I plan to install some baffles to channel the flow directly on the engine cooling fins.

RE: ANOTHER COMP ARF SPITFIRE
The tail wheel setup is almost finished, just need to prime and paint, it is home made and weight only 1.4oz. The mounting plate is carbon fiber laminated with balsa, the strut pivot on the plate, similar to the full scale, and a rubber dampening piece will be mounted at the end to limit the motion.
