By any chance cloned by FEJ?

C'mon, 21 posts and nobody said it, I'm surprised at all of you!
I was just thinking the same thing ...

A mid-air all by itself!!

So let me write this ... It did break apart just like an FEJ jet. [8D]

It Broke just like a real BVM Jet:

in fact I don't think I have seen a Fly Eagle break this way, although there quality issues are WELL Documented.

I think in the end this is just what happens when you stress airframes too much, granted its less likely to happen with a high quality mfg, it does not it mean its immune.

In the video comments, the pilot explains the turbine hatch lockers failed (the hatch may be seen falling in the scene before the model dive) and the model exploded due to over presure.

It looked to me like they were flexing on the first pass.

Question: If you clone an FEJ model will it actually be as good as the original item that FEJ cloned?

To Set The Record Straight

A simple but necessary correction:
In order to clarify any misconceptions caused by an earlier post, here is the truth:

At the Joe Nall event in 2010, the BVM Electra ARF shown in the video did indeed suffer an in flight structural failure.
BVM addressed the failure immediately, and developed and offered a strengthening kit for earlier airframes as an addendum: http://www.bvmjets.com/Pages/kits/el...al_failure.htm

The Electra ARF has since undergone a redesign of the wing "carry through structure", and will not fail when powered by a 10S or 12S fan.

The following link is from the BVM report from E-Jets International 2011, one year later.
Be sure to scroll down to see the speed that were attained by Electra's.
http://www.bvmjets.com/HotShots/E_Jets11/ejets2011.htm

Also, the short video of a "Bandit" self destructing is very incomplete.
Who, when and where?
Was the airframe damaged in a previous accident?
Maybe it was another GUGU jet. Just sayin'.

I find it amusing that nobody has brought up the real problem. It's not that jets failed. That happens. BVM corrected their issues immediately. The real problem is that Gugu Jets are nothing but thieves, who've blatantly splashed a BVM kit, and are now selling their THEFT of someone else's hard work and engineering.

Hi Doug,

The South American Bandit clone situation has been thrashed around on RCU a few times previously. They are not the first to copy one of BVs designs.
It is not an excuse, however one of the mitigating reason for the Splash Bandit is that Brazil and Argentina have extremely high import taxes, along with a very arduous importing system. This makes sourcing genuine equipment extremely expensive and difficult. And everyone wants a Bandit.

Watching the video, It would seem that Bob kept a few secrets that they were not able copy..

A graphic example of how destructive thin air can be a 200+mph.

I'm finishing the assembly of these models with a turbine and a 31lbs wing all prepared with reinforcements and composite carbon and will post the videos to see how passes of 200mph ...
