It's cheap, it's competitive, it's a way to get out of the house, and it's safe. I don't have to run fast or work out to be good at it.

I drive rc cars because I'm impressed with their speed and handling. I grew up liking rc cars but I always got tyco rc's and such, more like rc toys. With what I call real rc cars, I'm just blown away by their speed and ability to go just about anywhere. They're not toys, they're hobby cars. I have learned so much in the 7 months I've been into rc that it just amazes me. I like the complexity of these vehicles and learning how to repair them and maintain them. I've made friends because I got involved in this hobby and even go on racing trips with them. What it boils down to is that this hobby is good clean fun for anyone of any age, it's challenging and rewarding as well. I wish I had gotten into it sooner, but i'm glad that I finally did.

Call down to San Antonio hobby. The guys down there will know if there is a track around. There was a post the other day asking the same question. I don't think there ever was a reply.

I got in that since i always was interested in RC since I was 3-4 yrs old. Now I own 2 nitro cars and it is both very fun messing with them(upgrading, repairing, etc...) and it is also a social hobby(in my opinion). Once my girlfriend came with her family(they don't know me as I'm only 19), her mum said that the club members(we were only 12 people that day) must be of the same family since we were all talking, helping, advising each other. Even the members' wives were talking among each other. For me it's a good social activity beside the fun.

I drive RC cars because I am only 6 inches tall and I cant find a normal car I can touch the gas pedal or see over the steering wheel. Does anyone know where I can find a six inch bride to fill the pasenger seat. Also looing for 2.2 children and 1.2 dogs.

Go buy some action figures under 7 inches and seat them next to you in your Lego car.

i was given a old tamiya monstor truck when i was about 8
it had lots of parts missing so i made my own parts

few years later i baught a nitro 1/8th which i have modified the crap out of
i dont know why but when you make/mod a car your self it works much better then a car thats profesionaly made

plus you know, no one else has a car like yours!

so thats why i drive rc! so i can mod and drive and crash into trees

A couple of friends got me started in the hobby. At the time I was 20 and had a lot of money burning a hole in my pocket. So I figured putting a couple of hundred into a R/C wasn't a bad idea. And it just snowballed ever since. You all know how it go's. Break a part buy a better one. Your buddy gets a bigger motor you get a bigger one then him. I'm 24 now and still love it.
