I don't have a MoJo 40, but do have a Mojo 60. From what I've read, the smallest you'd want to go fro real 3D action is the Saito .72. And of course, the Saito .82 would be even better. Something like a YS .63 would also fit the bill quite nicely.

Thanks Paul..
I'm really looking forward to this ARF and I have access to a couple of 50 size 2 strokes. I just perfer 4 strokes but not enough to justify the money to buy one for this plane.... LOL

RE: Swany Mojo 40 ARF?
Think twice about the V-Max engines. I bought one of these for my trainer 4 years ago and I broke it in properly, but the Piston pin broke (the pin that holds the connecting rod in the piston). My mentor and flight instructor has been around the hobby for 50+ years and said he had never seen that pin break. Even after he has crashed. I will say that the distributor fixed the engine but I immediately sold it because I had lost confidence in the product. And I got spoiled with the OS engines I'm not saying you won't have good success with it, I am just letting you know my experience.

RE: Swany Mojo 40 ARF?
I emailed Paul and got my name on the pre-sale list. Now I'm thinking about set-up for this plane. Paul advises that a Webra 50 is the right choice for a motor. I'm going to order one of those too.
What about Servo's, Receiver, Battery, etc?
I'm thinking std Servos, a Berg 4 Channel Receiver and a 13X4W APC.
I'm not sure on a battery yet,, any suggestions? I want to stay as lite as possible....
Thanks !!

If you want it light, I'd go a 5 Cell NiMh 700 to 1200 mah???
I personally prefer NiCads, but that's just a personal preference. I'll put 5 cell 600 mah in mine.
Saito 82 (14x4W APC or 15x4 PZ)
Standard servos
AR 7000 receiver

I like the futaba 3010's or the Hitec 475's ofr servos.. I run 1200 mAh NiMh 5 cell batteries from BatterySpace.com. You'll want a 12.25 x 3.75 or a 12 x 4 for that Webra .50.
Thanks.

Talked to Paul today. Nice guy and provided great information (Thanks Paul). Mines on order. Cant wait.
I'm thinking about doing a "build thread" but, just continuing this thread. Maybe we all should take pics and trade information as we build.
What do you guys think?

You can use a standard servo for the throttle... Probably the most reliable option.... The Hitec HS 85 or Futaba 3114 are good for micro throttle servo's...
Looks like the ARFs are going to be here by the end of this week! I'm gonna be a busy boy this weekend...

RE: Swany Mojo 40 ARF?
hey guys im thinking about a mojo....on the web page it said the arf is available in a trimed covering and a plain...is the plain white or clear because a clear one would be the one i would get for sure. plus i want to put a saito 82 in it. it is 17.6 oz. i have a 56 saito but its under powered for for my gee whizz bee @6000 feet but its only 15.5 oz. they both have the same mounting dimentions. maybe the 72?. i really want to use one of these three engines. if someone has some advice for me i would be thankful

RE: Swany Mojo 40 ARF?
Well, Paul can say for sure but I'm pretty sure that only the older style Red, white, and black ARF's are still available so that makes your color choice easy. The plain trimmed ones were all white BTW. The Saito 56 is big enough to fly the Mojo but not big enough to 3d it well, Either the 72 or 82 are great choices. The 82 has an edge because it is a bit lighter and more powerful that the 72 but the 72 really is plenty for the plane.

Only original red and black ARFs left... Same great flying plane, just minimal hardware pack (control horns and landing gear) and standard tail.....
Probably wont be getting a new batch of the red white and blue ones until spring time....

Hi Guys,
the instructions say to mount the tank on closed cell foam. The only closed cell foams I know of are not fuel proof.
what is every body using under the tanks.
Thanks Mike,

I use Closed Cell Foam. I don't worry about it not being fuel proof, cause my fuel tank doesn't leak Seriously though, use whatever you want. The foam you get from tower or your LHS for wrapping batts. and receivers is just fine. I've also used foam out of an old chair, neoprene from a wetsuit, and once at the field I wadded up some paper towels and used that when I lost a piece of foam and didn't have any replacement. Don't over-think it.........closed cell will be fine. Have fun with it!

Thanks, I ended up using Depron and painting it looks like it will hold up ok.
I test flew the plane this afternoon and everything seem to work out ok.
Just using and old O.S. 46 but it seems to work ok hover just above half throt.so life is good. I have the Batt. up near the leading edge at the moment think I will want to move it back a little before I am Done. It still drops a little inverted but is still a blast to fly.
